Sat Nav and Bluetooth Coding

Featured Replies

I installed a Columbus and bluetooth in my FL Octavia. The Columbus has 2660 / 2662 / 2664 / 2666 / 2668 firmware so has voice control. The Bluetooth is 1Z0 035 729 E. All worked fine I then asked my local dealer to code the car for the additions. The maxidot now displays Audio and Sat Nav fine, but no Telephone and the Voice control is now disabled. They are at a loss what to do - This took them 3 hours!

Any ideas what I should tell them to do using the kit they have??

I am begining to wish I had left it as it was.

:(

Get someone who has VCDS to do it. The VAS machine dealers can use can be hard work in situations like this.

If your 100% sure it's wired up correctly then 10 minutes on VCDS will sort it.

What's your location? Maybe there is someone local who can help.....

The dealer is trying to find a solution. So i will give them a chance to prove how good they are.

I am sure the wiring is OK as it worked with voice instructions before and the bluetooth kit worked fine as well.

Now there is just no voice control and no Maxidot displays for the Telephone.

I am located in Dartford.

It sounds like you have the same set up as me. My phone works on the Maxidot & Columbus and also

of the Columbus & Phone works fine.

I think the the BAP protocol needs to be enabled otherwise as some Maxidot functions and steering wheel controls don't work.

Everything has been set up on my car as per the instructions given on Octavia-vRS.com except the following:

Telephone - Controller 77

The controller soft coding was set to 0000422

and is now set to 0010322

Try this and with any luck your Phone function will appear on your Columbus & Maxidot

The following is from Volkswagen RNS 510 Microphone Connection for voice control | my-gti.com

For the voice control - after you have re-routed the microphone via the Columbus the following coding is required:

Navigation - Controller 37

Open controller 37 and click on coding.

Click on long coding helper.

Select byte 3 bit 1 to enable microphone diagnostics (not essential but will alert you to problems with microphone).

Finally deselect byte 7 and bit 1 to enable voice control and save the settings.

I hope this helps.
