Extended Warranty

Warranty direct is the most expensive for a 1 year quote, however, the skoda dealerships vary quite a lot. I have been told that the reason for this is that some may not be Skoda Uk warranties and use AA warranty services amongst others, some may have excess etc etc....
I'm getting some small print sent out to me to see what is covered but does it really matter if it's not Skoda uk covering you?
Any suggestions?

As long as they're all supplying the same amount of cover I doubt it matters if it's Skoda Uk or not.
Never seen the point of extended warranty products. When you think logically, they offer this service because it's profitable to them, which means they must be charging more than they spend ... and the source of their revenue is ultimately the customer. Seems fair to say, across the board, each customer will spend more on the warranty than they would have done on repairs.
Perhaps the only people who benefit are very high mileage drivers ... but warranty policies often have maximum mileage limits in small print. If you're interested I saw an ad for a warranty company the other day headed by Quentin Wilson. Seemed fairly legit (and a bit cheesey) called warrantywise.

Read very carefully the list of exclusions which will be phrased in such a way as to deceive you into thinking you are covered when you may not be. The small print and verbage are especially designed to make you give up reading it.
Favourites are: Cambelt breaks - we pay for a new belt (only), DPF blocked and will not regenerate - driver using vehicle wrongly (!).
Get to know your vehicle, find its weaknesses and address them. If you can't maintain it yourself, find a reputable self-employed independent to do it for you. A Superb has many weaknesses but if you handle it properly, it will do starship mileages at low(ish) cost.

The thing that worries me is if it becomes blocked to the point that Skoda assist can't deal with it and it needs to go back to a dealer, the work will be covered under warranty then.
Or is there a simpler and cheaper solution to this?

As for bypassing the DPF issue entirely, there's been mentions of it around here but I never paid much attention to them being as mine doesn't have one. Try the search function fella, may yield results?

In my mind, the £599 initial outlay, was very well worth it, for claims of around £4.5 Thousand! - will Skoda UK not provide an extended warranty?

Yes they will extend up to 100000 miles or 10 yrs. Approx cost per year £350 which includes Skoda Assist.
