Nice afternoon out - spoiled..........

So arranged a babysitter as my wife was working and heading out about 2.30 to take the car to the jetwash to give it a quick blast with the plain cold water to get rid of the dirt before taking it to my parents for a good bucket of Meguiars. While I was at the jet wash I found a stone chip on one of my new Alloy wheels - A STONE CHIP! Raging!
If that was enough to pi55 in my coffee - finally met up with everyone. Got to where we were going for pictures to find that someone has stolen 3 out of 4 of my dustcaps.
And now the best bit - near Cumbernauld there is a 40mph limit on the dual carriage way due to an upgrade of the carriageway. I was following a truck that decided to flick up a stone about the size of my fist, bounced off the road just in front of me and then land gracefully right in the middle of my windscreen - breaking it!
Anyone else have one of them kinds of days or is it just me?????????

It is a horrible feeling, though. The third day I drove my car to work, I found some eejit in a Daewoo Matiz had clipped the rear bumper reversing in behind me, taking a line of 3 small chunks of paint off, all right down to the plastic. God knows how they managed it - the marks were between the rear wheel and the rear bumper bump-strip, and the space behind me was about 30 feet long!

Maybe it was a sign to say you should have stayed at home and looked after the bairn instead of selfishly satisfying your own craven Polo urges? Maybe the baby would have liked to spend some quality time with his dad? :wonder:

Yes - last night smashed into something at 70mph in the dark, couldn't avoid it as on dual carriageway with traffic, looked and felt like a small fridge, almighty bang, got home and found no sign of damage though. But then managed to drive into a large metal security gate while I was parking, turned into it on the drivers side :giggle: Again cannot see any damage despite a loud clank.
I expect something will fall off in the next few days though.

Hopefully you're fully comp and you'll just have to pay a small excess if its new screen time?
I went to my gf's parents house in london with my previous car with nice metal dust caps and valve stems... one night, GONE! frickin annoying. I bought some locking ones after that, although my fabia rolls with just plastic ones

And now to cap things of I got stuck on a speedbump at wotk and shattered my cat choking my exhaust in the polo and making it stall as soon as the revs go above tickover - and so follows the recovery driver swearing about youngsters with lowered cars!

Valve caps, my daughter is a primary school teacher and she parks her Ibiza near the school. She bought a new set of tyres from Costco and they do the good old "fill them with nitrogen" thing, and just to prove it fit green valve caps - that is not good as naughty little boys do tend to need them more than you as they are very trade-able for swops, her ones only lasted a few days - then the penny dropped "what have you got there boys?" they had some strange local name for them - but they were valve caps - she gave them a bit of firm education! I gave her a set of crappy black ones - they stayed on - that was her previous car. Now the boys are so admiring of her new Ibiza SC in Candy white with 17" alloys that they show respect by not touching her valve caps - so buying a new car was well worth it!
My daughter's set of three troubles last week were, chipped section of paint at edge of bonnet caused by lifting the wipers to clear snow and ice - a poor Seat design on the new Ibiza "always select service position before lifting the wipers" - that seems to include when they are frozen onto the glass?!? - next was washer bottle top jumps off and lets crap into the strainer section - next was discovered by me, rear O/S tyre flat - if you can describe a 215/40 tyre as being like that - nice shiny screw on edge of wall - Goodyear Excellance 215/40 X 17 87V XL - this is not a tyre that is currently stocked and most tyre chain places could not even order in a new one, good old "Mytyres" to the rescue - hopefully.
One other single bad story, a numpty at work claims that he was in his front garden when a spitful crow picked up a stone and dropped it on the roof of his new Civic from a "good" height = dented roof and bare metal showing - lovely, but does this really happen to some people? He was last seen heading for a "chip remover" place and expecting a miracle for pennies!

Update on crappy week:-
New CAT for the Polo £196 at trade from my mate that works at a motorfactors! Oh and the stone chip is now a 6 inch long question mark shaped crack in the centre of my screen - so no longer a repair, but a complete replacement inc a charge of £75 excess
Oh and my washing machine exploded & my wife just got turned down for a job!
Could anything else possibly go wrong this week?
