Ebay quickshift

Featured Replies

Just fitted my ebay quickshift.....the type that replaces the gearstick itself rather than the selector end at the gearbox like the forge ones. I have played around with the old paddle selector redrilling it however was never happy with the way it worked so decided to take a punt at a £27 b&m type copy.

Fitting was a right pain, jack car, take off exhaust heat shields and get to the underside of the gearshift mechanism to disconnect the gearstick, this was fiddly and a right pain, other than that fitting was pretty straightforward despite a lack of instructions.

This is a lot more involved than changing to a forge style kit, so if you dont like diy do not get one of these!!!

Anyway, fitted the throw is now greatly reduced and everything feels more positive and how it should feel if that makes sense!

Anyone else fitted one?

Nice one mate.

take it it shortens throw in all directions?

unlike the Forge that only does up n down? rather than side to side to.

think thats correct

cheers

yes shortens front to back and side to side and feels a lot more positive allround.

I currently have my mk2 golf ball on the end as the standard gear knob will not fit without some fiddling as its not threaded inside and the new gearstick does not have a taper like the old one so the knob rotates.

Do you have a link mate?
