Variable Boot Floor

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Just removed the variable boot floor from my Dad's new Elegance estate, as he won't use it and would rather have a rubber boot mat for his golf clubs! I couldn't decide where to put the bits once I'd taken it out, so I thought I'd try it out for size in my 2006 vRS Hatch.

It fits perfectly if anyone is thinking of retrofitting it to their car.

The only thing I couldn't swap over is the "real" boot carpet (that hides the spare wheel and the vario floor sits on top of). The one in my Dad's, it's narrower than mine to maintain access to the spare wheel when the false floor is installed. In mine, the false floor blocks access to the spare wheel well, meaning I'd have to take the whole variable floor out if I ever get a puncture. I tried to swap them over, but the carpet seems to be secured somewhere behind the rear seats, and I didn't look very hard because it was dark and starting to rain. Has anyone removed theirs?

Pictures coming shortly...
