vRS Estate Electric Windows Opening!

Featured Replies

I had a great surprise today - when I arrived home at lunchtime in the van my 08 vRS Estate was sitting in the middle of the driveway with its windows all down!!

The fact there was a sleety gale blowing throught it at the time and that the inside is thoroughly soaked all over just put the cherry on the top.

Anyone else had this or know what caused it? I've left my number with customer services but three hours later I've heard nothing......

Where were the keys stored? If you hold the unlock button down the windows will all open. I did this once by sitting on my keys - luckily it hadn't rained that much before I discovered it.

I had an Audi S3 that did exactly the same thing. Lock the car go to bed two hours later wake up alarm going off windows open. It is a well known and documented fault with the Audi so maybe it is a carryover to your car with either the equipment or software. Speak to the dealer asap and don't get fobbed off.

I panicked a bit the first day I had my car, as I came back to my car to find each window open by about an inch. But it was my own fault, as I was holding the unlock button down - the longer you hold it down for, the more the windows open (the penny dropped once I posted it up here)

I checked with my wife that there was no way this could've happened and she assured me of that. The keys were on a shelf high in the kitchen, so my young son couldn't have interfered either. I've never had this happen yet and the car is wearing on towards its second birthday in August.

Skoda will pay for the freight on the boat to Aberdeen, but strangely not for my fare. They didn't hold out much hope of them paying for the car to be cleaned/dried/valeted inside either. I must say I'd hoped for better - haven't they just won another award for customer service?
