Tangerine Yeti

Featured Replies

That is cool.

Very odd they are bringing out a special edition so early on in the cars life, they can't make them fast enough at the moment so what's the point of bringing one out that is presumably better value. Unless it isn't any cheaper or even possibly more due to the orange paint!

I hope it comes to the UK.

Let us know if Tangerine pops up on the ordering system James

As I mentioned in the 'new options' thread, think an orange Yeti, dolomite wheels, sports seats could be my ideal spec :)

Can't say I like boy-racer wheels like that on a Yeti... And the colour. Can't be good for resale value either but each to their own!

thats pretty cool! they just need to make the white/silver roof combo too!

oh stop it you lot are teezing too much now

I thought I had already said this but somehow the post got lost.

Am I the only one who thinks it's an awful colour?

tom

I like it, though I have an interest in orange working in the fireworks trade (it's the colour of the explosives warning labels). It's definitely a colour you'd need to check in real life though. Based on Focus STs I have seen, I don't think orange hides the dirt very well however.

As always, I doubt anything remotely interesting like this, or heated windscreens, or wood trim (etc) will ever make it to the UK :giggle:

Am I the only one who thinks it's an awful colour?

It wouldn't be at the top of my list of colour choices either.

Just reminds me of all those Tango ads a while back.

Tom I said it four posts into this very thread as well!

Oh come on! It's not like the "asbo orange" on the Focus ST!

This is a much softer metallic orange (I presume the same as on the pre-facelift Fabia 2)... I think it's nice to have a bold colour choice in the range as although the Yeti looks pretty good in every colour, none of the rest of the colour range is particularly bold.

Tangerine Yeti with Annapurna BLACK wheels.............MMMM I could get converted from Snehvide.

Oh yes. Put this next to the Ford Focus ST's green or orange and yes I'd take this Yeti orange any day. A colour I actually like that you never get is copper. Which thinking about it is also really orange...

Liked the Cayenne metallic Octavia and Fabia I's were available in.

That looks more maroon no?

That looks more maroon no?

No.Its quite ornagey and I love that colour. :)

I had a kindersand Discovery is coped with dirt very well in it and on it.

It is a head turner and why not.

Ah yes I'm at work now and the work monitor show it more copper than my Mac did at home. And yes. I love that copper colour.

But I still won't have picked it for my car. All metallic colours have a white base coat and when scratched that scratch shows up white and you can see them a mile off. Hence I never choose a colour darker than silver, Aqua blue and at a stretch Steel Grey. Also hides the dirt well as you can't really see when these coloured cars are dirty...

AND on some cars you need to see the shadows that the creases create to give "form" to the car. On my A2 for instance the wheels are a bit small relative to the height of the car. Thus the car has enlarged wheel arches with a very sharp crease to throw a shadow and pronounce them to make the wheels look better on lighter coloured cars. But get the A2 in black and the shadow is gone and the wheels look too small.

The Yeti however has a very plain two box shape so does not require shadow trickery to make the shape work. What it does have though is the Visor helmet glass lines front and back with a floating roof. Thus the A-pillar is black to form the front visor (the windscreen and front door glass), the B-pillar is body colour to separate the two visors and the from there back and around everything is black. So lighter coloured Yetis look by far the best. Thus on a Yeti in dark colours - and especially black - the colour completely hides this distinctive feature of the car's design and really just reduces the shape to a two box and nothing more. Also remember that on most cars there is a chrome line around the windows to define this shape when you get the car in dark colours. The Yeti does not have that so the a dark colour completely hides the Yeti's best design assests.
