was thinking like 7-8pm .. by the looks of it ..... we have a lot of members in cornwall ... so i thought it would be gd to meet up !

would be good sadly work most evenings though :(

I can probably do that. Where in Truro will have room to accommodate a raft of Skodas though?

do you just want a car park or somewhere with facilities too,

if a place with facilites Tricky Dickys near Redruth is always good for a meet i'd say, big car park, plus various facilities including a good pool table, food etc

a place without facilties would be somewhere like matalan, or the multistory next to L2 if its wet!

Have to say I'm a little biased against Trickys, due to past experience, but I can't disagree with your assessment of the facilities there. I think it would be nice to have room for everybody to stop and talk cars, but some food/drink would be nice too. :)

YEH! I would be up for that, anywhere really as long we won't be asked to move along.

Suggest maybe at the big 'TESCO' in Camborne, (24hour opening) and those who want a coffee instead of tempted alcohol ??

Loads of car park space (all free) in the area, both front (across the road) and back of the building.

Same goes for 'MORRISONS', close to 'TESCO"although not sure of coffee facilities opening hours?

Again, I could do it. However, the cafe isn't open 24hrs and closes at some point in the evening (not sure when) and it's hardly very glamorous. But depends who's going and the consensus.

is there anywhere of a similar nature, trickys has always been somewhere i've been when been out in a small group of friends for whatever reason, often visited their with Jaymz (another member of here however not sure if he comes on much now hes migrated to a Fiat) and always found the staff to be welcoming!

Tesco cafe closes at 7pm,

Mcdonalds car parks are for boy racers, wouldnt want to be confused with them!

maybe worth agreeing a meeting point and perhaps move onto somewhere more appropriate if meeting point is crap

I'm not saying I wouldn't go to Trickys if everyone else wanted to.

What about Blue Bar - Porthtowan? Clicky

Space to park, great coastal roads pre and post and food and drink there. All at the beach......

looks nice but bit out of the way!!!

only about 3-4 miles from the A30 at redruth

Not as out of the way as Devon :p

If we don't decide on a venue and commit, it won't happen. Then you're stuck with things further afield. Don't forget, at the moment, we're only talking about West Cornwall. There's a whole bunch of people further up the line in other threads here who haven't chimed in yet. I'd be happy to go a bit further afield if more people were gonna show.

not knowing anyones locations can we get an idea of rough area, are most of us in Penzance, Redruth. Truro, St Austell Bodmin or further Launceston, Saltsh direction, as if most of us are in one small area why not hold the meet nearby to that area?

trickys does sound gd .... i have had gd times and bad ... but there is lots to do .. a nice place to go would be watering hole in perrenporth ... down side is paying for the carpark :( but am open to all ideas :DB)

I considered the Watering Hole (I happen to like it in Perran), but unconsidered it because of parking cost, didn't know about the food there, and the volume of sand there ;) But I suppose Blue is similar.

Yes, Rich it seems most of us are either West Cornwall, or North/Plymouth. So perhaps somewhere more central would increase turnout? I just like the coast. After all, that's what we're about down here!

But I don't have enough knowledge of mid-Cornwall to suggest suitable locations. The only place that springs to mind is Indian Queens, where we can all park and then have a Brewers Fayre on hamburger hill. But it's hardly very nice.

Happy to go to Trickys if people are up for that. Don't wanna get too bogged down with bickering about a location. Si had a good idea, something easy and light. See what the interest is, then go from there. If it's just West peeps then Blue is about as far north as you'd wanna go. And you'd probably prefer Camborne/Redruth. Another option closer to there is Sandsifter at Godrevy. Free parking and right by the beach. But recent management changes mean I know nothing about the food provision there.

The other thing I would venture at, is a BBQ on the dunes above Godrevy. It's £3.50 to park there all day and they can be a little Nazi-ish in the way they want you to park, but a gorgeous location for a Sunday. But that's a whole other thing!

PS Anyone want some first hand knowledge of the Nurburgring, PM me. You know it makes sense

Ok Si, can we get into the multi-storey at Moorfields for free? Good for photos in there pre-drinks (and food if people want) somewhere else.
