I kinda like it, but am undecided what to do with the inside, leave steel, wait for it to get sooty !, or spray it black ?

Comments welcome !

Alan

Wont it just peel off due to heat or melt? Think your going a bit too far imo

is this a wrap or pure carbon??

im liking this alot :giggle:

Thanks for the comments guys,

I wrapped my Grill surrond last week and this is a little off cut of the 3M Di-Noc carbon fibre film, not sure if it will last or not ? I figured the exhaust tip wouldn't get too hot but will have to see what happens, and hey !, it's different !, don't think I've seen it done on her before ?

Worse comes to worse I can peel it off, lol,lol

Alan

Geez... That's gonna melt....

looks different emoticon-0148-yes.gif ..... where and how much for the carbon?

cheers mark emoticon-0148-yes.gif

See the current group buy fella >>>>>>>Here<<<<<<<<< or click my sig. Only til the end of the week left though if you want some.

I think it looks good on the tail pipe but not sure if it will last with the heat. Keep us updated as to how well it copes

Thats really nice definatly have never seen this done before, you may of set a trend off mate, i really hope it dosent melt.

Nice idea and well finished from those pics

Good on you for trying; IME the tip doesn't get too hot. Depends what the heat survival temp of the 3M is though! Only one way to find out :D

It looks mint. I painted the middle of mine black to try and hide the two holes a little. My tailpipe gets too hot to touch but I hope it can cope with the heat.

Regards Chris

looks different so i like it, there is a high chance it could melt though but keep us updated of how long it lasts

carbon fibre does have a level of heat resistance and thats why they are used on some popular induction kits, although dont know how long it wil last under very high temps from the exhaust.

it does look good on your red car

i hope it lasts a long time

buts its plastic imitation carbon fibre aint it :wonder:

Or as i loke to call it, farbon :D

It's a carbon effect plastic wrap from 3M, yes :)

I'd be impressed to see an exhaust tip made fully out of carbon fibre though B)

has it melted yet?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the comments :giggle: , gave it some stick soming home from work tonight when I got home the exhaust tip was warm to the touch but no sign of any movement of farbon yet , still stuck like something to a blanket  , was readning some bits on the 3M website and it said the film when used externally is good for at least 3 years (exposure to UV) and it's been tested for a number of days at 65 deg c  , so will see how things go with it, if it comes off it comes off, but I do like it !

Have just tried tonight to carbon wrap the "Fabia" letters on the back of the car but couldn't get it to stick around the letters tight enough :'( , think it's a combination of the shapes being too small and too tight, ah well never mind.
