Pulling to right, only when accelerating

Featured Replies

Hi Chaps

I've had a problem with my vrs for a couple of days, it keeps pulling the right when ever I go to accelerate. It happens on 1/4, 1/2 and full throttle (usually torque steer on full though)

It doesnt matter whether i'm going into a corner or on a straight bit of road. It pulls quite bad, but the steering wheel doesnt move. When i back off it pulls straight then, so at the moment the steering feels awful. I've checked all the bolts are on and have checked the tyre pressures and they are both fine.

I havent hit anything to knock the tracking or wheel alignment out.

Please help Brisk!!!!

Wild shot in the dark!

Worn left hand console bush? Causing excessive toe in on the left under acceleration. When you brake does it go to the left?

just when I back off the throttle.

Steering fluid level? Tyre tread depth? Tyre inflation? Snapped spring? Worn bushes? There's any number of things it could be, eradicate the free/cheap ones IE steering fluid leve, tread depth and tyre inflation.

Then maybe jack it up and have a look to see if everything looks normal.

Is one sides brakes getting hotter than the other? One side could be sticking on slightly

Its not tyre tread, tyre inflation, and i dont see a snapped spring, and its not the brakes. Thanks dude, will check the fluid.

No bother. IIRC the fluid is difficult to check as it's under the battery or something gay like that!

lol, typical!!!!!!

I had a similar issue on another car and it turned out to be a distorted tyre. Swap the two front wheels over and see if it pulls to the left

Will try everything, I think it might be worn bush, I remember hearing a loud clunk this morning. Will get a mate who's a mechanic to come round later and we'll have a good butchers. Thanks for the comments lads.

Turned out to be the main suspension arm bolt and come loose due the thread being ****ed from 2 wishbone changes, new bolt. Sorted!!!

Bet it was a lot easier to sort than toppin up the power steering fluid. Did mine the other day, had to remove the battery, take all the screws out that hold the battery cover/case in and unclip the airbox. Then hook my thankfully very small arm and hand round and fiddle to get the top off. And still use a funnel and pipe to get the blaaaady stuff in!!!

Glad you got it sorted mate.

Lol, much easier Pete. Sounds like a right kick in the balls to do. I soon gave up with that idea, as I could hear something loose on the suspension.

Cheers again fellas
