Weitecs now on

Featured Replies

Managed to do the suspension swop last night , took the fsd and eibachs off and fitted the weitec , really quite pleased with th result , the weitecs are a lot firmer but not crashy , bit harsher than the koni's tho .

Gonna look at getting the koni fronts maybe rebuilt , then get rid i think , bit of a faff fitting them but nowhere near the fitting and setting up of coilovers , overall recommended i would say , good quality feel at a half decent cost.

I would say they look a bit lower than the koni's as well , more even front to back.

Why , you cant see em on lol.

yellow springs look good , wanted green to match the calipers , because , yes i am that sad .

 thanks for the info.

Do you know how much stiffer the weitecs are v.s stock? I saw on the AP site that they say they're 25-30% stiffer than OE dependent on application..

I'm thnking of going the bilstein b8 route, but still not 100% decided yet (see my fsd thread..!)

Dunno to be honest Rob , pleased with them tho , not hard and bone shacking , pretty reasonable ride i reckon , where are you .?

Slammed innit Bruv

Not sure how coilovers are going to give you better performance on the road without extensive setting up and testing, if they even come with the correct spring/damping rates? Going to get it corner weighted?

It probably does look nicer in fairness and if thats what you're going for then :-) but dont be inder the illusion it'll handle better because i'd say there is more than a strong chance it will be worse.

I've never had a set of coilovers that came with the correct poundage springs for good performance on the road, for any car!

Its not on coilovers matt, its on weitec gt suspension , i didnt fancy setting up the coilovers , its not lots lower than the koni's by much i dont think , i agree with the idea of properly matched springs and dampers .

Now I've found this thread, I'll be round for a demo drive

Looks good Pete, and if the ride quality's decent then this is probably the route I'll go. I've no idea what Koni have managed to do on Octy FSDs though; never heard of any issues with the Fabia ones! :dull:
