As it says, let me know what you did cuz i'm trying to work out the best plan of action whilst seeing if this is quite common,

Cleaned but leaked again. It's not quite as bad as yours. I just give it a wipe now and then.

I did the Elephant hose mod, and that's reduced the amount it leaks

Leave the engine cover on like I do, out of sight out of mind. Does not seem to cause any issues, just looks a mess.

lol

i only spotted mine was leaking very slightly last weekend so havent done anything yet, but after advice yesterday on this forum ill be doing the elephant mod and cleaning it up for the time being, and maybe deleting the egr at a later date, so ill vote 'delete egr' just so you know emoticon-0136-giggle.gif ....emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I have a mint on from an 05 asz if anyone needs one

pm me no leaks surplus to requirements

i bought a replacement one from Ebay for peanuts but ive never fitted it yet, car isnt using much oil if any at all and doesnt seem to be causing any problems

Right, the plan!

Clean it out and fit a catch can to try and cut down on the oil going around the system.

I dunno why but I just don't like the idea of the elephant hose mod. Especially when I read stories of water freezing and blocking the pipe in winter.. though I'm sure it soon melts.

What are people's opinions on my plan.. Will a catch can reduce the oil leaking from the EGR, or is that oil coming from somewhere else completely? Turbo seals or the like.. not sure, lol.

Taa,

Rob.

p.s. Thanks for all the votes!
