Hi all,

I recently purchased a vrs and it had a strange 5 speed gear knob on it (see picture). As my vrs and all others have a 6 speed box I was wondering what model this came off?

The gaitor looks like a vRS one, so someone's just taken a generic knob off something else - I wonder why? Especially with it being a 6 speed...?!

The style is very un-fabia like so I am hazarding a guess it might be off a VW.

It is straight that is just me having twisted the leather a bit when I took the pic

Looks like one off a mk4 golf. Gaiter looks like a vrs one tho.

underneath it has the same adaptor to get it onto the actual gear stick, didn't realise it may have been off a different brand of car! What do the normal fabia gear knobs look like? I can also understand why they didn't replace the original (if it was damaged) as I was quoted by a dealer as over £65 for a new one!!! :no:

Looks like the one on my Polo in shape etc, only a different colour, or a Golf/Bora.

Yeah I had the same knob on my old Polo. The gator does look like a VRS one though.

Its definetley a mk4 golf gear knob, dont know about the gaitor. What a strange post :giggle: :thumbup:

Standard fabia vrs gear knobs look alot better than that :rofl: what doughnut would ever put that on it ( just lost for words :S ) im sure someones got a pic they can put up of the original its swwweaat!!

Thats the one I swapped it for and yes it is very nice, keeps the vrs theme going through the interior as I have just fitted the vrs logo floormats too! Starting to look real nice now! B)

I'd be inclined to agree with you mate...
I almost bought a mark 4 golf 6speed knob for mine but was out bid...

(Are you rolling yet Duncan? Mines going in for clutch and dmf on monday :( )
