Featured Replies

 Well mine is a FL 09 Scout and here is a scan of the car - is this the infamous mk60 ? whats the last 2 letters telling us (AP) have Skoda modified the units ? cheers - Stuart. :'(

Address 03: ABS Brakes

Control Module Part Number: 1K0 907 379 AP

Component and/or Version: ESP MK60EC1 H45 0107

Bugger!

Given the number of threads discussing this failure, the units vulnerability, the replacement cost and the reluctance of Skoda to address the issue; should this subject be made a sticky?

There were issues with RX-8 corroding brake lines a few years ago. the weight of feeling in the owners forum made Mazda change all the brake lines of the cars.

TOO RIGHT

Never heard of an issue.

Does this mean mine might be faulty?

How can I check?

AFAIK, all car's with ESP are (potentially) affected. Those vehicles without ESP (ie, they only have ASR like mine) are not affected as they have a different unit fitted that doesn't manifest the fault.

Best you can hope is that if it does fail that it fails within the warranty period, although they do seem prone to failure at 3-5 years.

Vote for the sticky here.
