Xenon controller not playing ball

Featured Replies

rossm came over with his Octy Vrs for a few bits and bobs to be recoded. One of the things he wanted to adjust was the Xenon headlight aim. We opened the Xenon controller in VCDS, went into basic settings, chose group 001 but all we could get in the 4 measuring boxes was "Adjustment Invalid Adjustment not possible".

So we read the fault codes from the controller and turned up these:

Address 55: Xenon Range Labels: 1T0-907-357.lbl

Part No: 1T0 907 357

Component: Dynamische LWR 0003

Coding: 0000007

Shop #: WSC blaa blaa blaa

2 Faults Found:

01539 - Headlights Not Adjusted

005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation

01534 - Control Circuit for Left Headlight Range Adjusting Motor (V48)

010 - Open or Short to Plus

We know that recently the headlight units have been disconnected / removed from the car and reattached after some work was carried out on the car.

Given we can talk to the controller, and we know the lights are definitely present :giggle: i'm guessing there's some connectivity from headlights to Xenon control module hasn't been reconnected?

Does anyone know where the Xenon controller is located so we could check for connectivity to the headlights?

Any other ideas?

Updated our WIKI to cover 01534, while 01539 already was covered.

BTW: Please update to the latest Release 10.6, it's available on our website and the update is free - as usual.

Updated our WIKI to cover 01534

What a man  many thanks Theresias

Hey Craig,

Thanks for asking about this. The dealer are taking a look at the lights on Monday so I'll let you know how what they find.

Update on this....

The dealer found a connection problem with one of the headlights and have now correctly adjusted them.

Suprised the lights worked at all if they weren't connected correctly.

Cause of the fault is unknown, but my money is on the squad of chimpanzees who carried out some insurance repair work. Let's just say, it wouldn't be the only component that Derek Cram Body Repairs in Falkirk failed to correctly re-fit. :swear:

Fortunately my dealer were good enough to cover the issue under warranty.

Just came across this post. I left my Fabia Mk1 vRS into the dealers today to have the xenon alignment reset (they hadn't been adjusting themselves for the past few weeks)

Anyway, after an hour they said the VAG COM was showing a fault code for the Xenons and it might be a faulty wire or sensor. Was it easy enough for them to fix the wires? The only option I got was to have the whole sensor unit replaced at £200!

Cheers,

J
