ESP Failure!

Featured Replies

I started the car the other morning only to be greeted by the ESP light staying illuminated and "ESP Failure"appearing on the Maxidot. My local dealer kindly fitted me in and diagnosed a faulty cam position sensor ??

Whilst the car was at the garage I mentioned the pretty appalling fuel economy and they think this might be related to the cam position sensor also. The new part is on order (3-4 days hopefully) and once its fitted I'll post back with any improvements in my fuel economy.

Good luck PP, and I hope the fuel economy DOES improve emoticon-0144-nod.gif

I had mine throw this up once - will need to keep an eye one it.

My MFD mpg is 40 though - so doesn't sound a permanent issue.

a very common issue at the mo,it should be replaced with a grey one the original black ones are giving lots of problems,is it a 1.2 tfsi engine ?

Yup, 1.2 TSi with fuel economy regularly in the 20's! Hoping this will lead to an improvement.

I had started to wonder if something was wrong with it, given all the posters claiming 40+ mpg from their 1.2's.

Can you easily check yourself what colour is fitted ?

Might be onto something here.

50 miles covered today at an average of 41.7 mpg, comfortably better than anything previously obtained.
