Factory open again ==> build date now assigned

Featured Replies

My Yeti (CR170 / Columbus / Park Assist - but no sun roof!) was ordered on the Skoda system on 21st June (Week 25 according to my diary) and today I've learned that in the past couple of days it's been assigned a build date of Week 44 (on the Skoda schedule - not 100% sure whether this agrees exactly with my diary week numbering or not). Dealer believes that no build dates were assigned during the factory holiday, which is why it's only just come through.

There's also apparently an intimation from SUK that special efforts are being made by Skoda to see if any improvements in UK Yeti build date/deliveries can be made (allegedly to meet anticipated extra demand before year-end due to VAT increase), though this could be just emollient or maybe wishful thinking because of the already extended delivery time.

So it would seem that my Yeti is scheduled to have been on something like 21-22 week delivery (allowing 2-3 weeks post-build for delivery/PDI etc) although this period obviously includes the factory closure - and this for a Yeti with a seemingly unremarkable spec, ie no sunroof, DSG, 1.2TSi engine etc any of which might conceivably have slowed things further. So be prepared for a longish wait if you're thinking of ordering.

Just ordered mine, pretty much the same as yous (1.2tsi DSG se spec) i only added a multifunction 3 spoke wheel to the options as nearly everything else would cause it to delay until 2011!!!!!!!!!

Been told delivery will be in october, which seems quicker than what you guys in the UK are getting.

Might be because mine is LHD and they are producing the RHD versions slower?.

Still waiting for a build date from order at beginning of May, so hopefully now they are back from holiday I might get a build date at last lol

Sigh ! :(

Only ordered my 170 July 17th. Its got nearly every extra the factory do, so will be interesting to see what the build week is.

Andy

We ordered ours at the start of May and are picking it up on Friday,

Ours was a week 26 build, 170 with a few extras. 3 months was a long time, although taken nearly 4 weeks to get from Factory to delivery point.

I'm guessing you didnt order a sunroof to get it this quick lol

nope, no sunroof, only options we ordered were soundsystem, spare wheel and Tyre pressure monitors along with dealer fit mudflaps and silver mirror covers.

The dealer we bought from had allocated build slots for yetis so we just picked the one we wanted and this was the earliest one we could get it.

The other two were in September.

We were just lucky I guess going on other people's experiences on here.

Good news from my dealer today that build week has moved forwards to week 41 and so total delivery time will potentially be 18-19 weeks overall (including of course the 3-week factory holiday during July so maybe a current new order might be more like 15-16 weeks to delivery). Let's hope that the factory manage to squeeze another week or two out of the timetable somewhere/somehow (but obviously not to the detriment of build quality!).

Seems week 41 is RHD week at the factory as mine is also scheduled for that week! So I don't think it will change much from that.

Ordered July 17th. Build week is 41, so should be quite a few due to be delivered in mid November.

Welcome to new members davehutch and AndyC

I ordered a 140 SE with extra's but no sunroof in Week 26. I checked with my dealer earlier this week and was told the build date is week 50 - implying a delivery date of early January 2011.

I really don't understand how we can be provided such a diiferent build dates. I would have expected a build date of week of around 41. I just hope the week 50 date I was given is brought forward. The only consolation I have is that Skoda are willing to pay the extra VAT rate on those cars ordered before 1st Sept but delivered in the new year .

Hi Greenboy,

Good Luck with your order if it was with White Dove in Cardiff - you may have seen my thread regarding the order I made with them for a 1.2 DSG Elegance with Sunroof on the 6th March.

I now have an order for the same Yeti with Capitol Skoda, Newport which was made on the 10th June (Week 23, I think?) and the production date I've been given, and confirmed again yesterday, is Week 49.

Can you please let me know where Skoda have confirmed they will pay the extra VAT duty if delivery goes into next year ? Thanks. Glamorgan

Well after 16 weeks my first broker/dealer let me down and so i have had to start all over again. This time I went to Skoda Capitol at Newport. It was Paul the sales chap who told me by phone.

Incidentally i have been without a car since March and finding it increasingly difficult to get about as the the colder weather closes in. I am managing to get by (just) with bus (apalling service) /train/the odd car hire and the occasional borrow of my daughters car but only when she doesn't need it. It is a good job i am retired! All I really want is the car I ordered.

I ordered my 140 Elegance (Candy white, underbody protection) on the 3rd July and have had wk39 confirmed as build date - well before the factory went for an unscheduled swim anyway!

This means it will of course arrive in October when I am in Ireland fishing. The law according to sod.
