I've had my vrs close to two months now and am thinking of making some modifications. I could do with some help in deciding what exactly to do and in what order. Ideally I'd like to make the handling less roll prone first as I use loads of bendy roads and if I have anything in the car it inevitably goes flying when I let the beast loose. At the same time anything I do to it has to not affect my insurance too much, and I don't want to wreck the ride either. I'd also like to up the power, specifically the capacity of the car to get from 30-70 as that's where the grins live

What would the board recommend, in that case, that I do early to make it even more fun? I have the funds needed to do most of this stuff early but could do with getting some bang for my quid

Remap, lowering springs and Whiteline rear anti roll bar mate

I didn't bother with just springs since I wanted to reduce the arch gap, but plenty rate a springs and RARB combi doing wonders while still keeping a nice ride. Bit more subtle looking too so no one would sport it being modded. Then a remap would help raise the grin factor. I paid £250 for my custom map, whiteline anti roll bar is around £140 iirc. I'm sure others could advise on springs and price.

Matt

Id personally up grade the brakes and suspension before putting more power in it.

So would the springs not lower it as far as coils? If I'm going down the lowering route I'd like a nice low stance with not too much room in the arches.

No in a word. Because the fabia is so high as standard, the only way of getting a decent drop is coilover. I think I saw one fabia on springs with a big ish drop, but I'd expect a very bouncy ride tbh. I find my fabia on coilovers a nicer ride than my ST fiesta as standard. But I guess that's personal opinion. :-/ maybe go for a spin in some local ones to see if u like the ride.

Matt

Cars need low!!!!!! All of them

312's and decent suspension
