VCDS scan, egr fault

Featured Replies

I bought the lite version of VCDS from eBay as every now and then the EML has come on for about a day then gone off again !

So, I have done a scan with 1 fault showing and it said: EGR system regulation range exceeded.

What exactly does that mean ? I did the stutter fix a few weeks back now with the 9mm gasket could it be related to that ?

Thanks

Yes, 9mm gasket often throws out a CEL light and EGR fault code. Options are to drill the gasket out to 12mm or turn down EGR flow rate with VAGCOM.

Thanks Moggy I thought it would need drilling out.

I've read about drilling it to 10.5mm but would 12mm be better ?

11mm is the absolute minimum to guarantee no CEL.
