BMW to offer winter wheel packages

Featured Replies

Interested to see that after last winter BMW are to offer customers winter wheel packages (for obvious reasons :giggle: ) according to today's Yorkshire Post.

Doubt mind we will see such a thing from our importer. When I contacted them last December on this matter they referred me to Kwik Fit  stating they had no advice to offer customers on suitable tyres for their product :S

Yes!

I have my Yeti on order with delivery expected early/mid November and I asked my dealer about winter tyres.

Not a Skoda option but they (the dealer) freely offered to swap the OE tyres for winter tyres (cleary I have to pay for these) but they would give me an 'allowance' on the OE tyres coming off the car.

Seems a fair enought financial deal and a good service. Will probably take them up on it.

I then have my set of 18" rims (presently in use on my Octavia) that I will fit with 225/45 18s for 'summer' use on Yeti.

I didn't realise that Octy wheels fitted the Yeti.......

I may then find some cheap second hand steel octy wheels for winter use then....

You have to be careful with the 'offset' of the wheels. Octavia II and Yeti use the same 5 stud 112mm pcd hub but offset are different.

It you look @ the Plumber's tech guide you'll see what I mean.

I have a set of 18" 7.5J ET45 Team Dynamics GTO wheels that give a wide stance to my Octavia but are spot on for Yeti.

The one bit you did not mention was that the BMW dealers will also store the other set of wheels for you! Just like the tyre companies do in Europe. I'd like to see how they will store 20 or 30 people's sets of wheels and tyres in a dealership somewhere...
