Sick As A Parrot

That's really bad luck.

The road conditions look ok, so was the other driver distracted with her phone or something?

Don't forget to get to the doctors to check for any whiplash injuries ;)

Tis a shame to see a nice car like that looking so bad, not to mention it looks like an old style vectra from the rear :'(

hope you get it sorted soon

Dreadful!!!

Do you really want it repaired after that?

I woukd push for a write off

She will be paying..so ...

It might be another wait, but at least you will have a new one again!!

Good luck mate

Let us know how you get on

im so sorry to see this happen to your car :( what is it people have against pearl black vrs's like ours at the moment!

Absolutely gutted for you, at least you seem to be OK but get the doctor to check you out ASAP in case something happens in the future directly related to the accident.

Although I'm no accident investigator and you can only see so much from the pictures, I'd say bearing in mind that the tailgate glass is intact and there doesn't seem to be obvious roof damage, that they will try to repair the car. If the roof is creased/bent though then that increases the likelihood of the car being written off, otherwise it is new parts and a session on the bodyshop jig to make sure everything is straight. If they do want to do that then it is your right to insist on the car going to the repair shop of your choice and get it independantly inspected before you accept it back.

Good luck, I think you are due some now, I hope it all turns out well and you get the result you want.

Metal can be replaced, your body cant! does your insurance offer a 1 year replacement car scheme? some insurance offer to replace your car completely like for like for the first year...

I would be very upset!!- just a thought ,as it looks like it is a write off. For all our members information I would not display its registration number ,ideal car for a 'Clone', knowing the original is unlikely to be on a road again!.I realise it will eventually show on PNC as written off,it takes time for Insurance Companies to decide! ( ex job,now retired).

Gutted for you mate. :( :( :(

Hope it all gets sorted for you soon

I feel for you mate......I would push the insurance company for a new one-that nearside rear door looks well and truly out of line. DON'T let the insurance company take it to one of their two bit 'approved' repairers-insist on a Skoda garage(they will assess the car using proper new Skoda parts, also, insist on a similar or better courtesy car-maybe something like a new Octavia or Superb)

Seconded.

Don't want to be all doom and gloom but doesn't that just mean you get a new car in the first year if your car is considered a total loss? (Rather than just the "market" value of your car which may be £1000s less than list). Unless I'm much mistaken it doesn't mean you get a new car in the first year if you have a bump that wouldn't write your car off.

If there is a "new for old" clause surely that would mean the car is less likely to be written off as the insurers would be willing to pay close to the new car cost on repairs.

Sorry to see that, must be heartbreaking :'(

You have my sympathy :(

Awful thing to happen. only four days old.

What a sh*tter. Sorry bud. Hope you get sorted!

That will definately be written off,I had a brand new 2 month old Vectra written off which was taken from outside my house after the SH*** smashed his way in through the back door and took the keys, yours looks a lot worse, the shell has gone and the door opening looks deformed.....as its only a couple of days old., I'm pretty sure the insurance company are obliged to replace, not repair for that much damage.......it will need to be re-shelled from the looks of it.

I can't imagine (and hopefully never will) how you feel!

I have however seen a lot worse than that repaired, the only thing i can see writing the car off is if it takes them ages to decide / repair the car so the courtesy / hire car costs will make it uneconomical to repair.

However it's no point second guessing what the insurance company will say, just sit back and wait for their assessor to do his thing. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Pulled up behind queue of traffic behind car turning left on A171 in North Yorkshire, woman in Nissan Nivara 4 wheel drive double cab job hit the brakes then hit me!!!!! I was so stunned i got out looked at the damage and just said "its only 4 days old" :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Thought i reconised that road - accidents up there all the time.

Sorry to see this mate

Ah well have reconciled myself to the philosophy of "**** Happens" now, no one is seriously injured (i have whiplash been to hospital today) and life goes on etc. I have been supplied with a hire car by her insurance, unfortunately its 1.6 petrol Mazda 3 Takara, what a tinny piece of junk , but it will suffice whilst the decisions are made about the VRS. Work have been spot on so just gotta wait and see.

My heart says I want a new car, but that means ordering another one with a 3 to 4 month wait and the problems associated with arranging transport for that period and getting her insurance to pay for this transport plus its on finance, potential problems there i dont even want to think about. My head says repair it (properly) get it back ASAP and forget about it and get on with life, but would this accident invalidate my 3 year Skoda warranty ?

Talk about bad luck!

You could get an accident management company involved. Europa Consultants are supposedly good.

In theory you should get a brand new car (it looks written off) and an equivalent in the meantime.

:'( :'( Gutted for you.......chin-up life goes on

It's possible that the warranty could be invalidated if non-OEM parts are used to fix the car

I would push for car equal to yours or higher. I had a Range Rover Sport for 2 months after my X3 was stolen. I would also be pushing for a brand new car with them paying the finance whilst you are without it and also provide you with the hire car. What insurance companies are you with? I've heard of people using these guys before http://www.helphire.co.uk/

A four day old car think I would have killed the driver at fault! Had a ten year old clio williams written off in the same way felt so ****ed off, god knows how you felt with a car of that value! Hope you get the verdict/compensation you deserve

What a ****er. Hope you get a good result. Remember you are entitled to be put back in the same position as you were prior to the accident, and if they don't write the car off there will be a loss on the value of the car that you will be entitled to - crashed cars are worth less.

Looks bad matey, if you go to Slacks they use a repairer at marske, and if you go to MSB they use one at darlo they dont have their own bodyshops, Good luck
