Octavia/Fabia aux in with SWING stereo

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I'm due to be ordring up my new company car in a few weeks. The company will only let me have the 1.6 S model which, as you may or may not be aware, is the bog standard 'shave a few pennies off' base model. My brother picked up his one in June and the car comes with the SWING stereo rather than the touch screen BOLERO. The crucial thing we both want is a 3.5 aux in but it's not fitted and the brochure says MDI is not available with the S model.

I've been in to a couple of Skoda dealers now and they both cannot understand how a Fabia with the SWING stereo has an aux in the centre console yet the Octavia does not. My thinking is simple... if I had a Fabia and damaged the cable from the back of the stereo to the aux socket, they could replace it, so I should be able to buy this part and retro fit it myself to the Octavia. However, neither service dep't can find this part listed.

Has anyone successfully fitted an aux to the Octavia SWING? I don't car that it wont fit anywhere, I'm happy to have it loose as it'd have to be removed when the car goes back.

Also, I've seen reference in searches to the question of if the wiring is in the rear doors to add rear speakers, has anyone actually had the door cards off and tried to take this further?
