Skoda Fabia VRS: BLT Engine?

Featured Replies

Seen some of these advertised?

Says its a fabia BLT engine 150 bhp?

Any ideas?

Or just a lie?

Craig.

I think Skoda started using the BLT engines in 2006 and were rated at around 150bhp. Not sure how much more torque this produces... :wonder:

Yeh different engine used from about that time. Most probably due to emissions. No official increase in power; Skoda still sold the car as 130bhp etc but many suggest that such later blt engines offer a bit more poke than its predecessor. Also offers the dreaded stutter but thats for another thread...

Yea I always notice the stutter in my car, usually in 4th gear hitting over 2000rpm... though don't quote me on that. I'll see exactly where it occurs in the morning.

The stutter isn't that bad. I test-drove a 2006 with the BLT but bought a 2005 with the older engine, not much difference IMO. Just buy on condition.

The stutter is only an issue if you make it one!

I've lived with my BLT engined car coming up 4 years and it hardly ever happens!

disconnect the egr valve hose and plug it...easy fix in 2 mins..

def have more power standard, my blt 56 plate fabia is faster than a 150bhp fiesta st so im running at least 150, plus having compared it to a few of the earlier models which i drive its def faster, and its also faster than my dads 170bhp octy vrs to about 100 before he starts to catch up :) and you hardly ever notice the stutter, and like warrick said, its solved in two mins :)

Ive got a 55 plate BLT and that never stuttered, even before i disconnected the egr, emoticon-0148-yes.gif

So what year does the blt start?

Is it 55?

2005 is the face lift aswell?

Yes about 05 i believe, if you have a reg i can check it for you if you like? emoticon-0148-yes.gif

my 05 is the other engine code, yet still pulled mid 140bhp at a rolling road. Its as quick as a VW Rocco 170 up to 70ish mph.

BLT appears to be around end 2005 so occurs in some 55 plate cars onwards.

Facelift was introduced gradually through Autumn 2004 - my October 2004 vRS was only partially facelift...
