Heko wind deflectors

Featured Replies

I tracked down Heko on the web www.heko.pl they have instructions and a video of installation My link

Also this shows the clip hooks are installed away from the deflector so that they lock into the material of the window channel.

Being a smoker I like to have the driver's window open a bit but I keep getting rain run-off from the roof running in and, worryingly, it's getting to the door armrest electric window switches. I was wondering if fitting these would direct said run-off away from the window openings and cure this problem for me.

If you guys think it will, could you also advise best place to get them from please.

Cheers, Stron.

Just bumping this back to the first page in the hope it will garner a reply ;)

Mine came from Germany, Octimex . My main concern was the amount of water that seemed to fall straight onto the window switch gear, I imagined smoke and sparks. These keep the rain out and allow ventilation of an inch or so, with the windows open without a cold shower. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help folks ;)

I've plumped for the full 4 door set from Octimex at £50 and trust they will be manufactured to the usual precise German engineering standards

Arrived promptly from Germany. Yours truly not so prompt at fitting them however

I do have the driver door one fitted although it was unclear what to do with the metal spring clip (ended up putting it on top of the window and raising it so it found it's own position, which seems to have worked ok). There are some "bedding in" issues as when closing the window it sometimes catches and triggers the trapping safety device (it's ok if I inch it up but invariably catches in auto raise mode).

The good news is that it is keeping water out a treat which was the reason I wanted them in the first place

Hi Stron,

The link at the beginning of this thread shows a video demo of them being fitted with some nice Polish music :-)

They originate from Poland.

They do a good job :-)

Cheers,

Jeep.

Yeah Jeep I studied the video prior to fitting but was having trouble getting the clips to fit properly, hence using the window to seat them. I'm sure the deflectors will bed in and stop triggering the trapping safety device. The cold weather probably isn't helping as obviously this is making the rubber seals less malleable.

The top channels are not very deep on the yeti windows, I found opening up the clips to make them a little wider helped them grip better in the window channels.

Fitting took a little bit of fine tuning, perhaps the music is needed as part of the process :)
