REVO rocks the rollers once again!

REVO vs APR tested back to back on Scirocco 2.0 Tsi APR 266bhp against a whopping 290 bhp of the REVO .... And just check the torque figures out too!! Ace

Stage 2 tuning :)

Pretty impressive Mike

Again the torque of these engines is really impressive. I've driven a REVO'd mk2 Otcy vRS and apart from the mpg theirs no reason to buy a diesel.

Mike, how well do the standard DMF and clutches last with these sort of figures?

any mk1 octy vrs samples yet? :smirk:

Hi Guys,

The clutch is very good on the 2.0TSI - we have seen very high torque out of them without any issues and the above car is running standard clutch too :)

Nothing yet on the Mk1 Octy mate :p - have to get yours in ;)

Mike

lol im scared to put my nice reliable smooth APR stage 2 up for the amnesty thing :giggle: and a 400 mile round trip

scared :S

390lb/ft torque and Almost 290bhp from just stage 1 software?? :o

Peak power at just after 4,500rpm and doesn't climb beyond that point? :S

Surely that just isn't right?!

Looks like a brilliant power band to me. :) Very much like a diesel.

Don't be scared... we have been seeing some fantastic results with REVO.

Even the guys here (2 LCRS) after there REVO update they are loving it!

It's Stage 2 Tuning guys :)

Both ARP and Revo hit the peak and hold it pretty much to the end but REVO just that bit better :D That is good tuning! :)

didnt revo always give higher figures  and we were always told by a well known big company in manchester that they ran lower figure for reliability and better working with standard componants and such :giggle:

Yes this is right mate :) don't forget this is the 2.0TSI engine not the 2.0TFSI (Mk6 Golf)

Mike - I think you mean the Mk 5 Golf had the TFSI, not the Mk 6 - I believe the Mk 6 got the TSI unit (you have dynoed above) from the Rocco?

Yep, well aware its the 2 litre TSi as used in the Rocco - I guess my comment mainly comes from seeing many of these units running at dyno days on stage 1 REVO software as well as stage 2 REVO AND hardware upgrades and not being able to produce the figures you have managed to on this example. Quite unbelievable. :)

With the new enlightenment to REVO. In short the APR figures just have been a little low - REVO assure no problems, we have seen no problems and the swtich to REVO wasn't done without intensive research :)

Haha, that is what I meant with my post, but after reading it, it does sound like I mean the Mk6 with a 2.0TFSI (editing post!)

All I can say is that this is what has been made on our rollers, no fudging or anything daft like that. I know it was VERY cold when the runs were done. Plus the customer seen a noticable difference between the two after driving - Which I guess is the best way of telling :)

Mike

just the 200mile drive and the £50 regulator then :giggle:

hmmmmm

i always worrry with new things emoticon-0106-crying.gif

wow :S

AA route says 171miles 2:59 emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Erm Mike that Rocco is a Stage 2+ file NOT stage 1

Especially as that's what it is being advertised as here :p :p

Click Me

There is no way on earth that a stage one file produces 83bhp & 183lb/ft (Standard TSi is 210PS & 207lb/ft) over a standard car on a standard turbo!!!!!

100% agree. No way is it possible, even on 'generous' rollers IMHO.

Mike

Yes, they are more than capable (I owned a 2 litre that went through all stages to 2+ using Revo code for 12 months). Being stage 2 software code explains the dyno characteristics I mentioned earlier however it would worry the hell out of me if a major tuner couldnt see the difference by either the presented figures or even the dyno graph characteristics tbh.

Good luck with Revo, they are a great product/company to be associated with.

Sorry about that mate! I was told Stage 1 and popped it up there!! The 2.0TSI engine is really great!! A lot of them have got IHI Turbos on too which all the reports so far have been great!! :D

But anyway! Yes pulling some great figures!!!! :D

The best thing is when the customer calls back up saying how much better it is, I think there is the real test! :)

I will have to see about getting some reports from customers on the APR - REVO switch. I think that will give the best impression :)

Mike

:smirk: hmm decisions ..... i hate them

you have that much faith do you that the REVO stage 2 will be that different than the APR stage 2? :wonder:

knowing my luck REVO will make it catch on fire or break on the m5/6 on way home emoticon-0106-crying.gif

are they as reliable and problem free as my apr??

rather than 70 quids worth of petrol to go change my prob free apr to revo :smirk:

so curious ever since TSR fooooked my mk2 golf 20v conversion

just cant afford to break or ruin the octy emoticon-0106-crying.gif im just worried about running software with what looking like no support if probs arise

I've had Revo on my car for nearly 60k miles and not had problems with anything breaking or reliability (apart from the OEM clutch couldn't cope with the torque so i replaced it with a Sachs one)

i wasnt aware of a stage 2+ on the TSI. is that not just stage 2? how about posting mods such as exhaust/intakje/IC etc.

^^you sir are correct,

this was a stage2 file :)

^^you sir are correct,

carl, are there any other graphs for the TSIO stage 2 released yet?

How have you managed to get 183lb/ft from a stage 2 file on that IHI turbo when a K04 S3/ED30/Cupra at stage 2+ only manage an increase of around 140-150lb/ft which is a bigger turbo as you know and is more capable of flowing the power.

I know about the better pump & injectors on the TSi but is anything else different to the TFSi for instance cams etc.
