There 3 or 4 different ones available.

The Seat one piece unit does the job nicely and is usually the cheapest.

It does sharpen up the steering response a bit but the ride quality suffers a little as a result.

In particular it makes the car a bit more crashy over bumps. I'd imagine it would work best

in conjunction with a RARB although I don't have one of those yet....

Agree with Garrys comments.

With the fixed Seat one, a lot of members repaint / powder coat to better suit the colours of their cars. I'd imagine, this would prove to be more difficult / time consuming with the more expensive adjustable braces.

Garry - you need a RARB in your life! IMO the very best modification you can make to a fabia B)

got the seat one and have no qualms with it at all...powercoated in black to match the car and paired with a decent coilover suspension set up works a treat. I wouldnt say it makes things very crashy at all but then again im only 20 so i guess that my spine hasnt taken that many years of abuse yet pahaha ;-)

+1 on the rarb comment though!!! :)

What's the best strut brace to get for the vRS and is it a recommended mod?

I've got the Seat one on the missus' Fabia (in red with Skoda motorsport logo), but it seems like a completely unnecessary on a 1.2 that rarely gets out of town.

Not sure how much these go for but I'd be open to offers on it

1 went on ebay for £41 inc postage about a month ago.

btw i have both the strut brace and the rarb and all i can say is get them both make a real difference gets rid of the bouncy ride/bodyroll and improves grip too

corners i've been taking at 50 and felt like i didn't want to take much faster, i can now take them at 60 and feel confident the car can handle them.

This is my strut brace

i sprayed it black and added my free briskoda sticker to it then i laqured over the paint and sticker.

I've just taken mine off ready for tradin' the car in.... It'll be up for sale once i've got everything sorted in a couple of weeks or so.

The only thing about these is the postage costs.... Unless it's a local buyer of course.

Anyhow here's mine that's just come off the car.

Or they go bananas and go for a completely inappropriate shade of green. :D

Ryan - you beauty! I am going to shamelessly steal your strut brace design as I also have a black brace and wondered what graphic to put on it...until now B)

As vRS Turbo is fairly close to me, I don't mind offering a potential collection service - I'll be driving up the M1 to Hull next weekend to visit the outlaws, so if a deal can be made with a member, I'm happy to meet & collect and then bring back down south....

Where is the picture of your kawa green brace??? (which does look rather smart B) )

As soon as this thread kicked off, I was thinking it'll just be a matter of time before Garry posts it up (again!!!) :p

Thought I'd spare you all that. Besides I'm on the laptop and I have no pics on here they are all on my PS3 ;)

Well i'm at jcn 35 of the M1 but could meet you elsewhere if need be...... If vRS Turbo wants a green strut brace.

That would be brilliant mate providing it's not too far out of your way! I'll definitely take it if you think it's close enough and I'll come grab it from your house if that's OK?

WaveyDavey, could you PM Gareth_1.8T your post code so he can check the distance? :)

Just sent Gareth a PM to arrange where and when the pick up will be.

And just sent you a PM regarding the item itself. ;)

Cheers

Dave.
