Å koda Auto presents a limited edition Fabia RS

11/10/2010

On the occasion of 110 years of motorsport efforts at Å koda and to celebrate the IRC Championship title won with its Fabia S2000, Å koda Auto presents a limited edition of the Fabia RS.

Škoda Auto has long-standing and significant presence in motorsport, and is going to celebrate 110 years of this tradition next year. Škoda vehicles have made numerous remarkable achievements over those years, including the latest one – winning the International Rally Championship (IRC). Škoda Auto makes use of its motorsport expertise in its car development efforts. The RS versions of the Octavia and Fabia are popular with sporty drivers. Now the manufacturer is launching a limited edition of the Fabia RS.

On the occasion of 110 years of motorsport efforts at Škoda Auto and to celebrate the International Rally Championship title won with its Fabia S2000, Škoda Auto presents a limited edition of the Fabia RS – altogether 200 vehicles in the colours of the championship-winning Fabia S2000. The car is green (Rally Green), with a white roof, white alloy wheels and stickers in S2000 colours.

Presented at this year's Geneva International Motor Show, the Fabia RS comes with a new four-cylinder engine with double charging. Although just 1.4, this unit offers a power of 132 kW. Along with this powerful engine, the Fabia was the first car in its segment to offer XDS, a system that electronically brakes the inside front wheel as the car corners in order to increase torque on the outside front wheel for a high level of agility in bends.

Now that's what the 'standard' vRS should have looked like :wall:

Also noted HERE - only 20 UK examples...

Looks nice :)

nothing more "limited" than funky paint and a load of stickers? - tosh!

yep, looks pants

There is precedent elsewhere for this - the MX-5 had a Le Mans special edition - of only 24. Trouble was Mazda couldn't even sell 24 at the time and apparently some were resprayed. The surviving ones are really sought after these days but fetch silly money.

I would think they end up charging you a lot more than it would cost to get a vinyl for the vRS.

As far as I can see its just a greenn vRS with the optional white wheels and some stickers. Bit nicer to look at than normal but I would have expected them to up the performance a bit or make it like the vRS+ but with more poke!

I wonder how much extra they'll charge for putting on some stickers in the factory.

up the power or make it light like peuegot did with the rallye verison.

But then again skoda did nothing but a new paint job and leather for the mk1 limited edition so dont hold your breathe!

This Limited Edition seems to be little more than a sticker job, since you can already order a green Fabia with a white roof and wheel (I presume) - at least the Fabia vRS SE was in a unique colour and had leather, CD, Cruise, privacy and red callipers as options.

It will be interesting to see how much it is. Perhaps they'll offer it with Xenons which other Mark2 vRS owners are denied? :wonder:

The prices aren't out yet.... Once they are we'll know if it's value or not!

i want the fabia s2000

Yes you can - green can be had with black, white or uncoloured roof. Probably end up being cheaper to buy a "normal" vRS and then get a vinyl done (local shop will do a full body wrap vinyl for around £500 fitted).

So lets see if it comes with some unique items. Could end up like the Boconegra where Seat charge £700 for the bit of black on the front bumper and nothing else as far as I can tell!

There is a lad on here who has this Fabia. B)
