Well, well. VW liked my black on black wheels so much they've just launched this new T5 sporting the same. The Rockton. WOW! It even has a Yeti Rough Road pack!

Looks like it is a 4x4 as well. Those tyres look pretty aggressive.

I can't wait to see them! Did the glue you suggested stick them well and truly? Did you have to bend the badge to take the shape of the cone?

Oh, alright then, a sneak preview before they are fitted to the SM. Here you are:

I just covered the hub cap and the back of the badge with Evo-Stick Instant, left for 5-6 minutes, then applied the badge to the hubcap, left it for a little while then went round the edges to make sure they were stuck down.

It is a bit lumpy because of the raised VW underneath. I was going to use a dremel to smooth it down, but realised the the underside goes up, so there would be nothing left to fit the badges to, so I'll have to live with the 'bumps'.

I used 75mm dia badges Fred.

ohhhh... I'm jealous! Looks very smart! I will have to buy some Evo-Stick and start doing the same on my side. Though might need to "flatten" the VW badge first if I was to use my with-nuts hub caps instead of the circle-VOLKSWAGEN ones (which are much smoother)...

Looks great Mike! Those huge wheels certainly fill the arches. 215 and 60 profile too. Are they bigger in circumference than the original's?

I've not had time to put them beside each other, as I ran out of time after the handover, so just dumped all the wheels in the house and left for my 1st client.

When I have a bit more time I'll do a comparison photo.

I just got a set of old transporter hubcaps. Pcd is right but anyone know how you secure these to the wheel? They seem a little loose to me. There is no snap as they go on.

Sorry but as per quite a few threads now the VW T5 has a PCD of 5x120 and not 5x112. They sort of clip over but WILL fall off over the first speed bump.

ONLY VW Caddy van centre caps will work. Just do a search on here to find the part numbers.

Having today fitted my steel wheels and winter tyres, I think the bare steel wheels look as if they are there for a reason and most people will be correct that they are there for the winter. My wheels happen to be silver rather than black but I would have been happy to leave either colour exposed. Quite often trims look the plastic things that they are!

Some of the T5 centre caps fit better than others. I lost one in bad weather and the other one on Salisbury Plains. So only 2 left on the offside.....and 1 spare. Need another one, or take all off.

And I've got three redundant T5 centre caps sitting in my garage if anyone wants any! But, as Johann says, they do not fit properly unless you silicone them on as they have the wrong PCD. Only Caddy ones fit securely!

Sorry, should have clarified but was posting from a mobile. I'm aware that T5 ones have a PCD of 120, but these don't as they are old T4 transporter/caravelle ones. I measured and check out this site for PCDs of wheels on various cars etc:

So my question is, how do they fit on? There's a small diagram on the inside of the hubcap that doesn't mean much to me. I've got "normal" nuts on the car as far as I'm aware so how to they attach? Here are some pics if it helps?

Yes the T4 ones do fit. But I'm perplexed by how they fit too! The Caddy ones have nibs like yours one all sides of the nut with the ends having a definite 90 degree raised bit tapering to the ends. Thus when you put them on the ends bend out until that 90 degree bit clips back behind the nut to secure the trim.

Looking at it, I wonder if because the T4 trims are flat and the steel wheels are quite "sunken" where the nuts go, whether the hubcap is sitting too far on top of the wheel to be able to click onto the nuts then. Might need to shave a bit off the side perhaps so the cap sits "deeper" into the wheel...

I'd say the diagram shows air valve and specifies hubcap's intended position in relation to valve. Someone has already posted something about the VAG one and only correct position of hubcaps. Don't remember who it was and when however

T'was me! The diagram on the back of the T5 caps show where to position the cap in relation to the valve so that when the valve is at it's lowest point (adjacent to the ground), the VW logo is the right way up! Such attention to detail is amazing.

When my friend worked at the Rolls, Bentley, Ferrari dealer in Knutsford they used to jack up each wheel of the cars in the showroom to turn them so that the centre logos were always "correct".
