Featured Replies

Hi All,

as title, CD was playing fine, then it stops & "mechanic" pops up on the display.

I open the boot to eject the magazine, but it won't eject (you can hear it trying though)

thanks

Try Disconnecting the changer lead from the changer and leave it 10 mins then try again hopefully it will work. Once the cd cassette is out check for dirt/dust in the changer :thumbup:

When you're in there, check for water in the well under the stacker. The rear washer pipe is rooted through there, and there's a joint which may have come un-moored.

There might a small hole near the eject buttun where you can insert a paperclip - this should eject the cartridge.

nice one, I'll try that, thanks.

I see 2 screws on each side...I take it I need to remove them with a stubby to get at the plug in at the bottom.....which I'm assuming is screw fixed to the changer?

Or is it not screw fixed & will it prise off without removing the changer? (can't see under changer, there is only a 1 inch gap between the bottom where the cable connects, & the boot floor/carpet)

thanks

as an update to this, nothing worked, so I decided no option but to remove it & take it apart, which to be honest was fairly easy,.

The hardest bit was finding the right tools, most specifically my t25 torx bit & small ratchet to get the 4 cage screws out.

Once the changer was out, I took the front off, then the top (need small Philips head screwdrivers to remove side screws), only to find with those bits off, the magazine part is still inaccessible & I still could not get the mag out.

So I plugged it back in several times to try it to no avail (it made noises but no ejection & no CD playing)

Eventually, while it was making noises (after pressing the eject button yet again) I twiddled a white cog on the opposite end of the unit to the magazine, & hey presto, the magazine came out.

I then took it back indoors, vacuumed inside it, & cleaned (with a cotton bud & meths) the CD grabbing arms.

Then reassembled/ refitted & it's all good again (so far)

Edit;
