Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

Mike I won't comment on how you took 1,15 parking spaces to fit one tiny Yeti!!!!! :giggle: [ OR will you blame Aerofurb for not parking straight in his bay?! ]

No. Just laziness on my part, and giving them enough room to get in Tibet. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Spotted a dark blue E OR S, non tinted windows anyway in Harwich 07/02/12, parked up. Also spotted beautifull muscovado/gobi/elegance also in Harwich parked up just before xmas. There is a black one parked in its lair around the corner from me in Colchester, anyone on here own any of the above?

Overtook a Red (?) 61 plate Yeti last night on the A1 going north just before J1 for the M25.

Gave a polite 'flick' of main beam before passing which was reciprocated once I'd passed.

Spotted Rosso Brunello Yeti with black winter wheels, Musselburgh High Street this morning.

CONVOY ... heading home last night, driving downhill from Denholme to Oxenhope, following a beige Fabia. Looked in my mirror; there was a bright blue Roomster up my chuff, and that was closely followed by a grey Yeti ... and two cars further back a black Octavia. Only needed a Superb for the set! As the convoy wriggled through Oxenhope it broke up as people turned off. The Yeti (private plate, J800 xxx) turned into a driveway in the village. Must keep an eye out for him again.

Had a real fright today.

We parked outside sainsbury in Watford town centre and when we came back to the car it had moved!!

Well no it hadn't really.

There was an identical 60 plate SE in muscovado parked about 10 yards behind mine.

As you walk from the shops you have to go through a bit of an alley with high walls. I couldn't see where we had parked but could see the other yeti side on.

'twas definitely one of those double take moments.

At 11:50 approx today I was heading down the M23 turning off at Pease Pottage and almost caught up with a dark blue 59 plate 4x4 diesel which carried on down the M23.

Coming home a silver one was one car behind me on the road to Woldingham at about 3:50pm.

Silver 10 reg 2wd on the car park in St. Bees - I thought we were the only Yeti in the village!

Heading south from Knaresborough towards Otley today, passed two heading north. Got a wave from the guy in the white one, but nothing from the grey one two minutes later.

After three weeks and 900 miles I've seen another Yeti, or to be more accurate two! I parked next to a Forest Green Yeti at the Meadows M&S Camberley, then on the way home I had to give way to a steel grey Yeti at the roundabout near Ceasers Camp Crowthorne.

Passed by a white 170 (Eleganc? DF 11 ***) this afternoon on the M6 Toll heading south, tucked in behind him (both doing about 75mph - I was on cruise control and so I suspect was he) followed him trough the tolls and onto the M6,then off onto the A14 (East) all the way to The Brampton Hut, he then went south on the A1, whilst I carried on to Huntingdon on the A14 and then onto The M11 at Cambridge and down here to Excel (sat in my hotel room now)

Although we were both only doing 70/75mph, because we were on cruise control and maintaining a steady speed, we seemed to pass everything, I don't think anything passed us the whole time, and it was not a case of hogging the outside lane either, a lot of the journey was done in the left hand lane so other cars had plenty of chance to pass.

Flashed my lights as he passed but didn't get a wave, even when he turned off at Brampton Huit and I was alongside him, pity..

Well I thought I had the first in my area 'til I learned the first owner of mine came from 2 miles down the road now there are at least 4 in a 4 mile radius!!

Thought I spotted a white one in Whitehaven, Cumbria, yesterday until I realised it was my own reflection - yes, I know it's sad! :giggle:

Bet is was left hand drive though...

Hi Millstone, you are correct it is an Elegance, I was on cruise control and I did put my hand up to thank you for flashing me in (my rear window was so dirty I don't suppose you could see). As for Brampton Hut I went in to get some Diesel, again I did put my hand up but it was quite manic on the roundabout.

I then carried on to West Thurrock following the same route as you I stayed the night for a visit to the company I work for today.

We did seem to pass just about everything and as you state we were not driving at excessive speed.

Your DRL conversion looks good, are they LED?

James, my apologies - I didn't see either of your waves, but as you say your rear window was mucky, that and the dark glass we both have is actually quite effective, and the roundabout at Brampton Hut was a bit manic, I was pushing for the inside lane so as not to get stuck behind any 'ditherers' in the middle lane, and then pushed hard to get into the o/s lane towards Huntingdon. I did give a brief glance to my right as I passed you but as it was dark(ish) under the bridge I couldn't see into your cab very well, and I really needed to concentrate on the junction !!

Yes the DLRs are the Benzinfabrik kit complete with external restistors, they do look well but are a pig to fit...

but hopefully should outlast the car!

I've also got the .88p Hong Kong LED in the boot - makes a difference.

Silver Yeti spotted in the car park at Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton 13.45 today, looking wistfully at the boats on the lake!

Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to grab an image from the webcam! http://www.wirralcam.org/newbrighton.shtml

Spotted today 22/03/12 a Black Yeti with Silver Roof Rails. At Whitbread's Head office in Porz Ave, Dunstable.

Anyone on here?

Seeing more on a regular basis.

Today I saw a 61 plate silver parked with male driver in drivers seat, East Dulwich and a blue 61 plate in Thornton Heath.

Agreed, I rarely add to this thread now unless I spot a new one, or spot one in a new place. There are three or four locally that I see with some regularity.
