Washer Pumps not working

Featured Replies

On Friday night I noticed both washers were not working as well as the front wipers.

Yesterday I replaced Fuse 15 as I've read it is common that it blows (It had). The front wipers now work, but I can't hear the washer pumps working.

Any Ideas? I have done a search, honest.

Thanks, I've just tried that. I put a mix of screen wash and hot water into the bottle (was nearly empty anyway), but still no joy. :(

I hope both pumps have not burnt out. Is Fuse 15 the only one for washers?

i believe it is yes i checked all the fuses when mine stopped no fuses blown

i dont know how long it took to thaw out because i went back into work. dont know weather i mentioned it in the obove post i put a little boiling water from the kettle in aswell then rest with hot water but should thaw out eventually

The pump will not burn out "that is what the fuse is for"

Plus don't forget fuse 41 20A

Thanks. It was our old AX that always burt out the pump motors. The rear washer never used to work! However I don't know if it had a fuse and it was in the wheel-arch with no cover.

I've checked fuse 41 (for windscreen wiper) and that seams OK. Fuse 32 is OK as well.

If it is the pumps (I hope not), can you change them from the wheel arch, or do you have to remove the front bumper?

I hope it's not the stork as I don't fancy removing the airbag.

pn a thread on another forum a guy was saying skoda were gonna charge him £70 for pump then labour to fit which includes taking the bumper off!! my washer pump has gone too, fuses ok but no noise at all coming from it, terrible in these conditions :(... gonna go try pouring warm/hot water over it in a min see if it thaws out at all...

2nd hand pump has GOT to be a cheaper option... Must be some in knackers yards around the place..

sure i seen them on egay for around £7
