Nurburgring 2011

Featured Replies

Hey all :)

I am thinking of having my first trip in my VRS to the Nurburgring during the Easter break. There is also the royal wedding which I would like to avoid hearing about if possible

2 long weekends in a row, I have booked the 3 days off in-between also. I was thinking of 2 nights 3 days during this time.

I want to book Euro tunnel soon as prices are slowly going up if anybody wants to join me and has any input on dates please post below.

I'm hoping to sort out a late 2011 Brisky trip, incorporating the usual drunkeness, and hopefully no turbo explosions this time. :D

When's late 2011? I will be going over to Bulgaria in July/August might find time to pass by then :D

I am arranging a trip in early July.

I'd recommend staying 4 nights personally as 3 isn't enough IMO.

It is when you destroy 2 wheels on your first run and then go back a year later and nearly run out of fuel half way round in a 300+BHP Celica GT4

I found that last night, hopefully it will be open but if it doesn't atleast i can say i have already been there.

German Grand Prix is there 24 - 26 July 2011 and there was a new visitor centre recently opened. It would surprise me to see its in trouble........I hope not because we are going over to watch Schumi win again!

The German Grand Prix will be on the F1 track they are trying to close the Nordschleife which is the 22km public toll road http://www.nuerburgring.de/en.html. They want to build a theme park and big hotel :(

You must be joking...that's terrible. I have been a few times and had so much fun watching the cars, bikes etc etc giving it wellie around the track (best bit was Breidscheid bridge). My son and I cycled it last year too. Theme bloody park....sacrilege.

I hope it doesn't close! I have only been once before and thoroughly enjoyed myself!

I hope it doesn't either :(

Anybody up for going between easter and mayday bank holiday????

the nordschleife isn't closing down, the area needs the revenue.

having organsied more ring trips then i rememeber i recomend taking the dover dunkirk ferry through norfolk line. usually around £40 return and you have to pass dunkirk port when on route from calais to the ring!!

i am organising a trip during Easter with VRs owners based at JHQ near Monchengladbach, have got 6 takers so far, it`s only an hour & a bit away from here, plus bernie junior needs to get some pictures for his Photography A level journal.

What dates are you planning on going, I went to JHQ many years ago when I was in the TA 42 Sigs. I was looking for somewhere to stay maybe I could stay in Monchengladbach if you know of any cheapish hotels for me and my 4 year old boy :)

Im at the Ring from 27th June till the 29th returning 30th. The Wednesday 29th is the only day Touristfahren is open all day that week. Generally the Nordschlieffe open days are poor this year IMO. lots of evenings etc but not full days.

Hi guys

Im going over in June for the 24 hour race again which is amazing!!!!!!

We go by ferry from Dover to Dunkirk which seems to be the quickest route. We meet up with our German friends

who have been going for 16 years. We camp over for 5 days and get passes to go around the pits and look at all the very

fast cars. They use the Grand Prix track inter-linked with the old track. Watching the cars going round in the middle

of the night on full throttle is one of those moments you will never forget.
