Changes to Yeti & Superb II

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is site news but from a photographic post today on the Yeti forum, it would appear that the Yeti no longer uses the cast aluminium assemble carrier and track control arms supported at the rear by a console bush as shared with Octavia and Superb.

The assemble carrier is now a pressed steel affair and the track control arm is supported at the rear by a rubber-metal bearing similar to the set-up on the latest Fabia.

Not sure when this change was made but I suspect recently and even less sure if this new set-up will effect other Skoda models.

Not unusual for car makers to make their cars cheaper to build during their product cycles.  Witness removal of sound proofing from petrol vRS Octavias as an example.

God no, that would be cheating. Take out underbonnet soundproofing, save cost, then charge as an accessory! They'll be doing it with engines next!

I remember when all Skodas came with a free set of spare bulbs and a bootlight/rechargable torch..And if the car's wheels were alloy, so was the spare..Don't get me going on space saver tyres....

Slight update and change of title, as after looking at a parts 'book' it appears both the Yeti and Superb have the new front suspension components. These changes came in to effect on the 02/08/10.

Subsequently the new set-up has also found it's way into some versions of the VW Caddy as of late October 2010.

Interesting thing being these components part numbers start with 1K which indicates they derive from the original Golf V design, however there is no evidence I have found so far that they were ever used on this Model :wonder:
