To be honest, this is really the last hurrah before the big build, i like it being recognised so this was the way forward. Hopefully by this time next year, it will be a completely different car, just need to gather funds for the build and find myself a cheap run about for when this caterpillar is being turned into a butterfly...

Thanks again for the comments and thoughts.

Is this the 1.8T your going to put in it?

Car looks good, wheels look cack!

Brave going for the Banded steels..... if Mr Vosa man catches you thats 3 points a corner!

I like the idea of stickering up the rims though, was looking at vynal for my winter wheels but i think i may just start collecting stickers

Wheels look amazing, I want to sticker bomb some bits on my motorbike but what stickers do you use and where do you get them from lol ? seems like a stupid question but can't find stickers that I think would look good.

Are they illegal ? Banded steels are something I've always dreamed of having :( :'(

Firstly, banded steels are not illegal, there are several posts on retrorides culminating in a letter from Vosa saying basically that you are fine, so long as you have a certificate showing they have been tested, and that they do not protrude from the wheel arches. It's the insurance companies that you'll have the problem with... took me ages to declare these!

The stickers came from books of graffiti artists, "stickerbomb" and "stickerbomb 2" by studio Raweki i think... search stickerbomb on Amazon, that did the trick for me... then lots of laquer!

And yes, the 1.8T is coming, it will be a fair old while but the engine is bought, parts for a rebuild paid for and it is all in very safe hands. For those of you interested, it's the 180BHP out of the Mk1 Octy VRS.

And for those of you who can't wait until spring... subtle summer fun mode:

I never said they where Illegal, but if mr Vosa Inspector catches you he will put a prohibition on your car. Trust me, my old school mate is now a VOSA inspector and i threw that idear at him, he said cert or no cert, he would ban my car from the road.

Did the stickers from the artist do all 4 wheels?
