Windows Opening on their own

Featured Replies

Came back from skiing to find all the windows had opened a fraction ? There was a lot of condensation in the car that day. Happened again two days later. Is there a sensor in the car ?

There have been a few posts over the last 12 months relating to unexpected window opening(s).

A summary would be:-

If all 4 windows have been opened then it appears to be possibly caused by accidental pressing of the door opening button on the remote.

There have also been several cases of people (including myself) returning to the SM and finding a single window open - allowing rain into the car.

I've had this happen twice to me, (rear window in both cases) and never bottomed out the cause - however since doing a reset of the maxidot / computer (touching wood) its not happened in the last 4 months.

Not heard of reseting the maxidot before. How would you do that?

Hi Mike,

there's a factory reset option, although remember to re set up anything else you may have adjusted since collecting your Monster e.g. door locking options.

Did this with Pat after someone else noted they got an extra feature in the menu after a reset, however after starting the engine it disappeared. Pat was the same and we never really got to the bottom of that one :wonder:

Oh a factory reset does not effect your service time indicator.

Another option is the old PC trick of power down and reboot i.e. pull the relevant fuse :giggle:

TP

Thanks TP

I had seen the factory reset as an option. I didn't realise that was what was meant. I was under the impression you could turn it off and restart it, like pulling the fuse! (I like the PC analogy, as when I used PC's I was always having to restart thememoticon-0136-giggle.gif. In 18 months I have hardly ever had to restart my MacBookPro laptop.)

Mike

I had problems of this kind, dealers tend to say that you have activated auto opening on the key fob, even if keys are hanging on a hook in the kitchen, the dealer removed this function and apart from one incident they have been 0 K.

Sorted- Have found out that an odd combination of presses on the remote will open all four windows by 2cm. Spent five minutes trying and only got it to do it once ! So still do not know the exact sequence

Holding down the unlock button for over 2 seconds will open all 4 windows.

Holding down the lock button for over 2 seconds will close all 4 windows.

Now thats a good oneemoticon-0140-rofl.gif

That cost Skoda lots of £250's a few months ago, as their website for a short time described the electric memory seat with electrically adjustable and folding mirrors........It didn't for too long, but many of us were given £250 compensation.

Lets hope they bring the option in soon. I would use it all the time parking in London. As it is I have to get out, go round Elsie and push in the mirrors or swingy them out again.emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif
