I know wipers have been covered on this forum but my garage has checked the fuses and all are fine. I have use of all my wipers except the intermittent setting and its variable speed. The car was fine this morning taking my wife to work and the intermittent setting worked, however I parked the car up and about fifteen mins later the alarm sounded very confused not done this before. I had the bonnet open at my garage and did slam it shut this did not fix the issuie. Once home again with car parked up for over an hour the alarm went off again, so back out and silence the alarm open the bonnet give the mechanism a squirt with WD40 and slammed hard again. Please help this car seems to have one thing after another wrong with it. I have replaced and reset the EGR Valve, a Servo has been replaced, Throtle Body cleaned and reset. Steering angle sensor replaced and now this. Still have to replace rear silencer at this rate will have rebuilt the car before long.

For the wipers, I'd suspect either the wiper stalk or the intermittent delay unit. Do you have some settings on intermittent and not others? If so, the problem is probably a worn delay unit.

Alarm - no idea.

Thanks for the reply looks like the WD40 wash and one very hard slam of the bonnet seems to have done the trick. I went to pick the wife up from work and the intermittent wiper action is fully working again. It seems mad to me that the bonnet alarm sensor can stop the intermittent wipers from working, I can understand the alarm going off thinking that the bonnet is open must be on the same wiring set up well a cheap fix for now thank god. Do Fabias dislike the cold and wet and damp conditions as they seem to go crazy in this weather.

It will be the bonnet switch - a clue is the intermittent wipe not working....
