DSG stalling?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My wife told me her new Fabia DSG stalled recently... It was very cold, she'd just come out of the work carpark, headlights on, climatronic on full demist, turning right creeping out into heavy traffic and it cut out. Freak coincidence or should I be concerned? Has anyone else stalled their DSG 1.2 TSI? I didn't think it was possible... but we're very new to DSG.

Thanks,

Mark.

My Yeti 1.2 dsg has done the same!.

I just warmed it up in the carpark and clicked it into reverse and it stalled right away!.

Also recently i seem to keep catching it out in stop start traffic, like the clutch drops to quickly and makes the car vibrate as if its going to stall but it always manages to save itself.

Car only has 4000km's so maybe its just a new car hiccup?

DSG shouldn't stall - back to the dealer for a bit of TLC!

Interesting dsg's should not stall. Keep us posted on what the dealer says.

The dry clutch DSG in the Fabia is more likely to provoke into stalling than the wet clutch 6 speed used in my superb because the clutch needs to be fully engaged to avoid clutch wear. In this respect its just like a manual, if you plant your foot hard on the brake at low speed to bring the car to the stop then the car may well stall, just like a manual without pressing the clutch since the electronics may not have enough time to react to the situation.
