...........Just realised I can save 9p per liter (For super unleaded) by taking a 30 second detour on the way to work............

People in this country continually complain about petrol prices and usually do nothing at all about it.

Near where I live on the A41 are two garages which face each other, one is Shell and the other is Esso.

The Shell garage is always 3p per litre cheaper than the Esso and prices at both stations are adequately signed.

You would think that nobody would patronise the Esso garage as no effort at all is required to choose between the two.

But no, it does the same business as the Shell station.

If the cost of petrol is so important then the Esso garage would simply not get any customers at all and would be forced to drop it's prices to match those of the Esso garage.

Another example is Murco who are invariably much more expensive than any of the bigger chains so why aren't they boycotted?

Because like I said, most people are more than happy to complain about fuel prices just as long as they don't have to actually do anything about it.

We could learn a lot from The French.

five years ago we were paying 89.9p a litre, now we are paying 141.9p a litre

in Europe fuel prices have dropped, yet again we're shafted with higher prices.

The UK has the eighth highest unleaded price in Europe and the second highest diesel price.

In Luxembourg they pay 113.9p a litre for diesel.

Plus, most european pumps sell diesel cheaper than petrol up to 28p a litre cheaper!!
