The ultimate Mk2 wheel whore thread

Featured Replies

Itchy feet again, so just had to have a hunt round to see what I could find

Why do all manufacturers not have configurator pages to help you see what the wheels will look like before you part with your readies?

Here's a few examples, but feel free to post up any others you might come across

MAM 10 - I quite like the minimalist approach on this one

Defiantly the MAM 11

None of the above.

The MAM11 looks too much like the audi wheel or the porsche turbo wheel. (and are probably a lot of work to keep clean).

The MAM10 is too skinny, like spiders legs.

Keskin looks good, old school ;)

(my all time favorites are the CHs or CKs in 19")

Even comes with your initial in the centre cap :giggle:

Brenda?

How about the classic JPS look

Like those Brimma, eh Bentley wheels, problem is they weigh far too much.

The Bentley wheels are a bit to heavy on the eye for a car like a Mk2 Octy, they are best suited to Bentley's :) or indeed can be carried off quite well on a Superb.

I think the Octy needs something that looks a little more minimalist.

+1

They would look stunning on a new Superb

Octi needs sportier wheels.

I'll just leave this here...

MAM 11, maybe. Dotz Exile, maybe.

Don't think either quite hit the mark though. Not convinced by any Comps Bry?

I appreciate it's a tricky decision to make, without seeing the real wheels on a real car. They configurator images don't exactly look like yours after all....

I know these aren't on Octys, but....

Helios. Think these look amazing and should suit, but probably fairly heavy:

MO6: all-time great!

Same as above, but think the 6-spoke design suits the Octy a bit better:

Another comp option. Quite similar in design to the Turini: (sorry, couldn't find a suitable VAG vehicle pic!)

Agreed. Helios's are seriously classy and REALLY suit the octy.

And are unfortunately very very expensive, even secondhand :'(

They're a rare old wheel, I'll give you that. Generally because they look so right on quite a number of the VAG stable, so rarely come up for sale! Those that have them want to keep them

I still have hankerings after the vmr:

.. in 19", gunmetal. B)

Those look pretty hot, I'll give you that!

With that colour, size and ride height = WIN.

I like the VMR posted by rob! Suit the Octi

Is that a 'shop Rob? Or a real Octy with those wheels actually fitted in the pic?

Those alloys above are BY FAR the best ones on this thread.

Where might I enquire as to the cost of said 'vmr' alloys?
