Aftermarket Stereos

I ordered my Yeti with a Bolero radio, but I plan on upgrading in the future. I have been looking around for various stereo systems made especially for VAG cars and wondered if anyone else had come across any others besides those listed below. Does anyone have any experience with any of these?

I had a Kenwood DNX 7200 in my last Golf and planned to transfer it to the Yeti.

It was a fine piece of kit

In the end I stuck with the Bolero because of all the simple interaction with the MFSW which would have been very complicated with the DNX 7200.

I think the Kenwood and Pioneer above will now fully integrate?

BTW, I have a Double din fitting kit, including the fascia, which I bought for the Yeti here - brand new boxed and unused - yours for £20 posted

I had a Pioneer Avic in my last Octy. Great navigation performance, but very difficult display with small text and less-than-Garmin navigation clarity.

I am happy with the Columbus and it's integration to the MFD. The only thing I miss from the Columbus is a speed indication based on the GPS.

Hi Anthony, and welcome to the forum.

This may be a silly question, but why would you want to upgrade from the Bolero???

What other features do the units above have, over the Bolero?? which in my opinion is well 'specced' to start with emoticon-0112-wondering.gif

Kitten and I have a separate satnav, so didn't see the benefit of upgrading to the Columbus in out list of extras when we placed our order.

We're VERY happy with the velux roof though :giggle:

First let me say thanks for welcoming me.

The Bolero is a nice radio/cd player but I'm looking for integrated navigation, bluetooth and ipod control.

Don't mention it kind Sir. :)

I have a Manual in PDF format is that's of any use to you???

Just 'PM' me your email address and I'll 'whizz' it straight over :giggle:

wwo about retro fitting a Columbus. There seem to be plenty around that have been refurbished on fleabay. That would give you the intimate in integration.

Love the idea of 'intimate integration' - sounds much more fun than 'ultimate'!

Very interested in this myself but the thing for me is loosing the integration and rear parking display the Bolero has. Maybe the answer is a columbus but this would be a second hand unit and there is still no DVD playback. With the Columbus would you have to have the system re set to add this..?

that's what happens when you use an iPhone without reading glassesemoticon-0111-blush.gif.

From what I've read it looks like the zenec model integrates completely with all the other systems, e.g. maxidot, climatronic, parking sensors.

You can play DVD's with the Columbus, just not whilst driving.
