I went for a green strut brace too B)

Mines Kawasaki green but it doesn't come across well in the photos.

That looks good, i've been wondering what to put on it, a briskoda sticker perhaps. Where did you get Skoda Motorsport one if you dont mind me asking?

I did mine a while ago but since then a member on here

has started doing those stickers.

Give chrispyvrs a PM.

If you look for his thread in the group buys forum

I believe he's taking orders. He does some other types too.

I painted the symbols by hand then laquered them.

Next my Lime Green Samco Vaccuum hoses arrived (after 5 weeks!) so went out and got them fitted.

The paint matches the hose colour perfectly so very happy, I still need to paint the dipstick tube, going black I think.

The other thing I would like too do is find green coolant though so far having no success.

looking good

After restoring an 80's BMX recently and spending AGES looking for yellow brake cable I REALLY like the detail that your green vacuum hoses give..

Love all the painted caps as well.. THE nicest engine bay I've seen on a Fabia. It's all about the details for me (and you, by the looks of things) ;)

where did you order those hoses from bud? did you get a chice of colours and were they expensive?

Thanks i've got the fuel and coolant hoses too do next, yeah definately is about the details :) Did you get your yellow brake cable?

I got them off ebay from a company called JW Racing (just search Samco 4mm vaccuum hose) however, merlin motorsport do them and you can order direct from samco aswell.

There was a load of colour choices, basically any of the samco main ones.

For the 3m length it worked out about £12 IIRC, really cheap although they take at least 4 weeks if not longer if you go for a less common colour like the green.

Had a bit of a problem with the vaccuum hoses, basically I broke part of the vaccuum resevoir (plastic ball infront of the engine block), I broke the nozzle part the hose goes onto. I tried using glue to reattach it, thought I had but found out down the M77 I hadn't as all vaccuum operated systems failed i.e. no EGR, ASV etc which meant no boost! Thankfully my dad managed too machine a 14mm bung that we used to replace the broken nozzle and used a connector into the bung too attach it back to the vaccuum hose, after a few miles the CEL light turned off and everything was back too normal.

Anyway just a warning to anyone trying to change the hoses.

Yeah, I did... finished it off a treat, much like your hoses ;)

Hoses look funky.

Next job is your boost hoses

Update time, this one is a little picture heavy so be warned . . .

First thing to mention the vRS passed her MOT first time, no advisories so quite happy about that, just need to get road tax tomorrow which is up to £125 incase anyone didn't know.

Spent a fair bit this month so i'll just list them:

2 Pirelli P Zero Nero tyres for the front (Now running Goodyear F1's rear, Pirelli's on the front)

Wheel's alligned (can definately feel the difference!)

VW Lupo Cupholder

Dipstick Guide Tube (Now painted Magic Black)

Coolant Tank (Currently being painted Magic Black)

"Knob for Floor" - The twist bits that hold the floor mats in place, needed them all replaced.

vRS Footrest Plate

Samco Lime Green Coolant Hose 1m length, 8mm ID (5 weeks till its ready)

Turtle Wax Black Box

I also decided to sort my roof rail strips, was fe up with the caps falling out so they've now been sikalfexed in place, also decided to colour code them the same colour as the grille surround to be a little different.

The driver side strip went in without a problem, the passenger side was more troublesome, ended up using an american engineering technique called "Hit it with a hammer till its right", surprisingly this worked, although i did wrap the end in a cloth so I wouldn't scratch the paint :giggle:

Yesterday I decided to give the Clay Bar Kit a shot, have to say its absolutely brilliant stuff to work with, I didn't think it would make much difference but I was completely wrong, turned it from white too brown by the time I was done, left an excellent finish would definately recommend it

Once finished with the clay bar I then used the Turtle Wax Black Box its a good kit for someone like me who is new to the detailing scene, I only used the wax and spray but found they left a good finish. The next product i'll be buying will be Poorboys Black Hole as after using the clay bar it has shown all the defects in the body and since I cant justify a full respray I hear its a good way of tidying up most scratches, scuffs etc. Anyway some pictures;

I also got a quote to respray the spoiler and bonnet; Spoiler £90, Bonnet £100. I'm going to get some more quotes but its roughly what I expected, might try offering £250 and get them to do the roof aswell :D

Also bought new facelift vRS badges for front and back off Super Skoda.

Job for this weekend is too paint the brake calipers and sort out the screetching/squeaking brakes, some copperslip should sort that out (between caliper and pad obviously).

Not sure wether to paint the calipers skoda green or try and colour code them to the painted parts of the engine, thoughts welcome :p

I was also thinking of going for a custom straight though exhaust from downpipe too tip, can get it made up cheap by my uncle, anyone done this or have any experience of it?

As always thoughts/comments welcome

I Really Really Really like the green parts in the engine bay where everything on the outside looks standard. Reminds me of Ken Block's subaru.

Did you just paint it all? Keep up the good work, I might be tempted to do something like that ;)

Cup Holder…………6X0857558A01C..£29.46 + vat, if you email Christopher Caldwell at Ingram he'll order it for you, normally takes about 2 days, his email address is [email protected].

For the brackets I gave them 3 coats of primer and 3 colour with 2 laquer.

The white them does look mint, be a pain to keep clean though lol
