I agree with Jase I'm afraid.

For the love of God don't drive it if you can avoid it. Mine blew spectacularly and it was a horrid and worrying experience.

I hope you get it sorted soon.

exactly what mine sounds like. Mine went yesterday. new turbo on its way from Turbo Technics. DO NOT ask a dealer for a price. Got quoted £1400 today.

depends what you can afford. I have got a Garrett replacement from turbo technics for £500. Exchanging for the knackered one.

It'd depend on the cash situation primarily, and also what your end goal for the car is (do you need more mods for instance?) I guess.

The hybrid PD130 sounds very well priced and will no doubt serve you well.

I got the Allard VT2, also a hybrid PD150, for a touch under £1k delivered. Very nice people to deal with too.

You have my sympathy, its not the most pleasant thing to experience; particularly for your wallet.

You will probably be limited to 210 max, prob less, with the pd130 hybrid. The PD150 hybrid should go to 230-235bhp. All those figures are based on the car having other decent supporting modifications too though.

Unlucky fella. As has been said by many though, it's a great excuse for hybrid enabling up to 240+bhp :thumbup:

what is the turbo technics pd130 hybrid turbo? is this just the garrett one? the turbo i ordered from them today should have been £700 but i got money off exchange. Any ideas?

A PD 130 with new internals?

i'd say fubar'd - mine sounded exactly like that after eating one of the blades off the compressor wheel......

ROS53Y there is a PD130 turbo for sale on here - £150...

well..... had a call from the garage and the turbo has eaten itself which means bits of it in the system. New intercooler for me as no guarantee they can remove them all. The cost of this is ridiculous. Note to someone buying a VRS. Start saving. As alot of turbos seem to go. :doh:

Not heard that before. Always been told to make sure all the pipes and cooler and blown out and cleaned, but not buy a whole new one.

spoke to 2 garages. Said if the turbo has shattered internally there is no guarantee to make sure all the bits can be found in the intercooler. Only takes one bit i suppose. Was told not to risk it due to the amount of the turbo that had disapeared.
