Bolero and maxidot

Featured Replies

Quick question, am I right in assuming the Bolero will display track names etc in the maxidot from an SD card like in the Columbus?

Oh yes.

But you can't change tracks with the steering wheel controls (at least on my pre fl Octy you can't) like I could with the Dension when it behaved.

On my FL with maxidot (but no MFSW) you can change tracks with the stalk if the audio menu is selected.

Works on the Yeti!!

Having reread the initial question, I am wondering whether the OP is confusing things.

It is the central Bolero display that shows the tracks. Certainly on the Yeti the "maxidot" is the display between the instruments that displays things like fuel consumption, etc.

If you set the maxidot to 'audio' then it will also display what track etc you are listening to as well as showing it on the Bolero. Surely the Yeti can do that as well?

Lol, I know!

It can display the track info on a Columbus too though.

Not on mine!

It does show the track on the maxidot and on the unit itself but when listening to music on an SD card, it's not possible to change the track on my pre fl octy. I'm not saying it won't work on later cars, but it won't on mine.

So have you actually got maxidot and can you select 'audio' as an option in the maxidot menu?

Yes, I've got the maxidot display, as that is what shows the fuel consumption, distance and trip items, etc on the Yeti, and is situated between the speedo and rev counter. Haven't found an "audio" setting on it, so presume not.

All the audio display, CD, SD and Aux, is shown on the Bolero unit in the centre of the dash.

I'm not 100% convinced you've got maxidot from what you say though. Has the right stalk got a button underneath it?

Well that's what the handbook calls it. What else could it be? It is controlled by a roller on the steering wheel.

I've not got a mfsw so I'm not too sure on that. The other way to see is if your display shows open doors etc as a picture?

I suggest you go to your nearest dealer and have a look at a Yeti, because I can assure you that the Yeti has a Maxidot display between the speedo and rev counter. It shows all the "bits" for the trip computer, door opening, etc, plus allows certain programming such as the DRL's.

Audio input details are all displayed on the Bolero unit, via the touch screen. These include CD, SD card, and where fitted Aux via the plug in the central arm rest box.

EDIT:

some images of Yeti Maxidot in this thread;

It would seem that the Yeti maxidot has been 'detuned' in that respect then which would be most odd. :S

P.S. The radio does need to be turned on for the audio setting to be available in the maxidot.

If you have a Columbus does it also show the directions in the maxidot or just on the Columbus display?

On my Yeti SE, it displays the Radio channel on the Maxidot, however, I haven't checked if it also displays the SD track playing.

I have now raised a thread on the Yeti forum asking for an explanation.

I don't have the Columbus, only Bolero system
