Featured Replies

right folks, i want to start a new project using a felicia hatchback... i've got a few ideas running round in my head but i want everybody to suggest something.

i'm thinking rat-look, grind all the paint off or summat :giggle:

You've met my ex then.

SUPERCHARGER!

add togther with rat look would be an awesome sleeper

RWD with a Rover V8 :p

What about hydraulics rat look litterally as low as it will go!? I'm thinking widened arches so the wheels can sit right in them old school citroen style. Also I know people have turbo fitted the 1.6 how about giving the 1.3 some turbo love?!

I second the rwd suggestion...

Sleeper. Something that looks totally stock, but can destroy other cars off the line...

mid mounted rover v8 .....plenty of room in the back and a great view through the hatchback :thumbup::thumbup:

Anyone got any photos of a proper rat look felicia? I'm tempted to rat my pick up, even more. Would look even cooler in the school car park! (I'm a DT teacher, I think the head hates it)

I seemed to have hit on something, mentioning the old ex Buick V8 lump. It is lightweight, and very tunable, and also fairly common. I have seen many a front drive motor modded to rwd, and powered by this pretty good unit, especially Ford Escort Mk3's, and even a few Fiesta Mk2's.

By the way with the sleeper idea, very good. In the mid 90s in Leeds there was a stock looking Lada Riva, that under the bonnet had a Ford Cosworth lump! Insane.

as it happens i do have a rover v8 engine here at home but the automatic borg-warner gearbox is blown (no surprises there then).. would have to find a decent rear axle from a range rover or something though

i reckon the lid off a chest freezer would make an awesome spoiler with a few bits of B&Q tat to bolt it on.. i'm thinking an MDF bodykit too

Love this pic!

About the hatch..just throw in a 2.0 16V vw engine in it! Should be fun!

Do your thing Mr. Frankenstein! :giggle:

what i really really want is a 20v turbo engine, but they seem to go for silly money on ebay, although you can be lucky sometimes, there was one i was bidding on the other day which was all complete with the gearbox and ancilleries and it went for about £250 because the seller had listed it with a slightly mis-spelt title. i was gutted because my broadband dropped out so i couldn't bid at the end :wonder:

How about something along these lines, using the content of an old Octavia 4x4 (or even a written off Audi TT)?

If you can get the equivelant inside a Corsa, surely it will fit in a Felicia?

i did think about using an xe engine but they are old hat now, most of the ones that are left nowadays are either ragged to **** or the folks want to much money for them

esnipe is your friend, Tom! Won many a large-value item for much less by doing it, and not had to suffer internet outage as well!

As for the car idea, I'm with James on the 4x4, but he mentioned elsewhere doing it with a Fabia, a la S2000, which would be spot on (with bodywork available too at a price)

What ever you are drinking, make mine a double...LOL

You could even source a crusty XJ40 Jag for oily bits Tom. Scrappies generally have at least one in that has rusted to oblivion because the owner one day accidentally washed it. :giggle:

Seen videos of a favorit with that same engine.. was pretty nice! seen pics of it in the favorit and the felicia as well. it was a snug fit but that would make a really good project and a hell of a car!
