I'm pretty sure that there are hefty restrictions on aerosols being posted in the UK, let alone via airmail!

Go to an automotive paint shop and get them to mix you a twopack spray can that way you can get the right colour off the swabs they have and its two pack so itll stick like sh%t and will very tough

If I go for the Hammerite tins - what's the smallest I can get away with do you think? For 4 calipers. Assuming I can import paint!!

Better check that.

They have an NZ distributor - yay!

Dammit - they have every colour except green. Dark green's different I take it?

Seems a bit daft to get a tin of paint posted halfway across the world.

Normal spray paint won't stand up to the heat?

The bright green is discontinued. Tins still appear to be available, Found out sprays non-existant after using one on my strut brace. :S

There is a new color in tins, Garage door paint, Buckingham Green which looks close.

Also there are now at least two companies offering Brake caliper paint in Bright Green.

A bit too bright methinks.

Like I said! lol

I looked at all sorts of green to do then with but in the end I got it custom mixed to match and it was two pack paint which was a bonus as its rock hard when it dries and you’ve got no issues at all with it peeling like what would happen if you went down the cellulose route.

Yep Dark green not the right one.

Normal paint will flake off....

Rob it is the smooth green ya want,If it is of any help I can get a tin and send it to you if you cover cost...my local shop has 2 tins left I got one the other day.

I take it the Hammerite is good with the heat?

or is that just as bad?

hammerite can take the heat, its just not a hard curing paint like 2 pack so will scuff or scratch if you are not careful.

Still its what i used on my 4pots!

so the way round it would be paint with hammerite and then laquer? the laquer should giv it good protection I take it?

well it helps and it gives shine too.

It wont give a hard coat like an epoxy paint/powder coated finish

If you want super finish, my suggestion is strip them, send them to a powdercoater and get them blasted then painted, then rebuild them with new seals, this is more expensive to do however than the diy paint route.

No can't use it with hammerite it will go dull and soften the paint... I tried it.

thats odd, as the lacquer on my calipers works fine with the smootherite underneath
