O Dear this morning

Featured Replies

2 HGVs from our Depot were en route to Matlock this morning travelling up Slack Hill Slowly, they were over taken by an 07 plate Blue VRS, sadly it did not make it over the top, a Micra was involved in the collision. Was it anybody off here.

I'm starting to think these Blue LE's are jinxed.

Constantly hearing about them being crashed.

Hope they recover :S :(

Eep, I'm from that area, I know the road very, very well. For those that don't, it has become a bit of a local unofficial measure of how quick your car is - what speed it will do up/at the top of slack. And people do treat it like a race track!

Who's fault was it? I hope there were no casualties!

Out of interest who is it that you work for?

I wonder what state the poor Micra ended up in? I suspect the Fabia is a fair bit more solid.

naxtek, sorry I have no more details, all I know is the VRS over took the slow moving vehicles (Joesph Ash Calvanizing) and collided with the Micra at the TOP. I hope both drivers are okay.

It was probably the Micras fault, they're all driven by newly qualified drivers or old people. Did you know at the front of every traffic jam is a micra?

I get the impression the Mirca was travelling downhill towards the vRS which assumed it would clear the lorries but hit the Mirca instead? Was it near the summit which the Micra crested just before being hit?

If that is the case I hope the innocent Mirca passengers are ok.

Just read the other thread, not as I assumed. Still not nice, but at least the vRS driver is clearly ok if he's posting on here which is the main thing.

Didn't spot this before starting another thread, thanks for the interest. It sure as hell wasn't my fault. I wasn't going all that quickly as there was quite a line of traffic going past the HGVs. The vehicle in front of me pulled into the "slow" lane and next thing I knew the Micra was side on in front of me having turned right out of the junction from Tansley (for those that know the area). Pulled left to try and miss it but nowhere to go really and hit it towards the rear. Fortunately there were no rear passengers.

Had bad neck and shoulder pain and was carted off in a neck brace in the ambulance but sent home about midday after a check up. Feeling a bit light headed but otherwise not too bad. As far as I know the Micra driver was mobile although was also taken to hospital.

I think I'm cursed with vRS's. Had a black one which was driven into a wall at the dealers when in for it's MOT.

Edit: Great timing for post no. 100.

Pleased you are OK though. Perhaps a mod could merge the 2 threads?

fairzo, Glad you are alright mate, sorry I missed your post by 5 minutes. My mate rang me straight away to tell me of the accident he was the front HGV.
