PD100 Engine hesitation

Featured Replies

This afternoon driving back from work my car (Fabia PD100) started to have some hesitation in accelerating below 2k rpm, like it was misfiring and sounded like it was on 3 cylinders. The hesitation got alot worse after picking a friend up from work.

Any ideas as to what could be the cause of this as I'm meant to be going to Castle Combe on Saturday.

Anyone got an idea as to the cause

Need VCDS/vagcom to find out really. Could just be a sensor is packing up, eg MAF. Try unplugging MAF and going for a blast. If it improves it, that could be it. Also, you might want to remove that tuning box temporarily to rule that out too. I just took one off a mk5 Golf TDI for a local friend, as it was causing overboost.

Removed the tuning box and took it for a good run and it's stopped.

I'm guessing the tuning box is on it's way out, been great for the last 10-12k miles until yesterday.
