Several people have asked for a re-run of the "legendary" Thorne meets,

amazingly it's already been a year since the last one!

Thorne meet V - Sat 11 June

Meeting 12 noon at The Punch Bowl, Fieldside, Thorne, DN8 4BE

Just off J6 M18

So easy reach from Hull / Leeds /Sheffield /Grimsby /Lincoln /Nottingham

Meet at 12 noon, natter about cars, bite to eat, then a "scenic" drive....

the scenery might be a bit flat!

But it does take in Three Counties, albeit you might blink and miss one of them!

Phil said to mention the cheap food, so don't forget the cheap food!

If I said that I'd given up eating delicious traditional farmhouse ice-creams .....

I'd be telling a very big fib indeed.

The one we're going back to is very very good as you've both said.

However, I hate to disagree chaps, but the guy that ran the best one EVER, retired and it got demolished

:-( (insert crying smiley if that's not a contradiction!)

Although he sold the business name, his machinery and his recipes to his nephew,

but it just isn't quite the same anymore as his cows live in Yorkshire rather than Lincolnshire.

Did a little reccy the other day of the route, took it nice and steady (old car speed, vmax 55mph), from the pub to the ice cream parlour was 40 miles and took 1h10mins, which included a diversion around some roadworks ...
