Rosso brunello

Featured Replies

Received an e-mail from Skoda today ( us importers and all other Skoda importers around the world ) that due to the tsunami earthquake in Japan, the Rosso brunello colour will be temporarily removed from Skoda's option list ... Don't ask me why and how but just a note to those who have a rosso brunello model on order or for those about to order in that colour ... Are they buying the paint from Japan ?.

Its all to do with the special pigments in some of the paints , this is only made and supplied from Japan , it was 1 of the elements manufactured in the area of the earthquake and production has been disrupted , there was an article in the news a few weeks back .Obviously the Rosso is 1 of the affected paint colours that must use this pigment additive .

i don't get it..if u go to a bodyshop, they ask for the colour code and they can match the colour to paint or repair body parts.

so if someone with a brusso ronno colour how come sthey can still match it

Yes true, they could have sorted it with some other supplier ... I mean if this was a plant which used to produce brake discs for example would they have stopped production of the car or seeked elsewhere, another supplier ?.This is plain stupid IMO ...

i still dpon't get it...so brosso rosso colour cars are produced in japan?

I have a Rhosso brunello CR170 Estate on order from March but with no build date yet. I spoke to dealer today and he knows nothing about problems with this colour. He thinks that all existing orders for this colour will be met from paint already in stock. I will have to wait and see if there is any more newson this.

LIke others this seems strange to me, especially as after market bodyshops can match the colour- however I am feeling smug as my car is at the dealers ready for delivery on Friday of this week

I was at a dealer yesterday and he said that another colour had been affected too... can't remember as I wasn't really listening but it might have been "Pacific Blue"...

I am about to get (Wednesday) my new (actually 2nd hand v low mileage - Sep10) Superb Estate 2.0TDI CR170 4x4.

I would like to have had new, but the waiting time doesn't suit, and I'm not going to go elsewhere, and the price was just too good to miss.

I've had 2 Octavias so far, 1.9 TDI L&K (2004) which my sister is now running, and 2.0 TDI DSG L&K (2007) which I'm just giving up.

I'm *really* looking forward to the Superb, as I've had my eye on the Estate since it was announced at Frankfurt in 2009, but I'm slightly wary as it'll be the longest car I've ever driven!

I've had my new car of this colour on order for months now, with a delivery promise of July 17th. I wonder if there's any news of delays?

I have a Rhosso Brunello CR170 4x4 esate on order since mid March. Now been told that last cars in this colour will be built mid July, mine will not be one! If you have a build date after mid July for a car in this colour contact your dealer ASAP. BTW the new MY12 colours will not be available to order until w26 Petrol Blue; wk34 Regency Green; wk 42 Muscavado.
