Shall we have a SMOC logo made?

Featured Replies

On a thread in the Octavia section someone posted a link to a company doing full vehicle wraps. But then I saw that they also do official UK only badges for many of the well known manufacturers. (Sometimes the UK has model numbers/special editions here that the rest of the world don't). See some examples here:

I have NO idea how much it would cost but know that for the A2OC we had had metal ones made looking exactly like Audi S-line badges (but saying A2OC) for £16 a pair.

Not sure if people would want to pay that much? But that is what decent badges cost. Or just have decals like the Yeti Greenline or Yeti Family now has just ahead of the rearview mirrors on the front fenders?

I did a very crude sketch some time ago (for a thread on here I now can't find!). This can be a silver metal foot with Å koda green SMOC letters in it (something like this), or an embossed decal as per the Family badge, or just a flat sticker as per the Greenline one.

OR we could all just go to Halfords and buy the four letters for S M O C (£1,99 each) and fit them ourselves! And even that will cost £16 to have SMOC on each side on the fender - or somewhere. And I think one needs the Yeti (big)foot in there too, well I like the foot and for the SMOC bit to be a bit more subtle than in full read-from-five-meters chrome letters!

I like the idea; although not completely convinced by that design. Any alternatives people can suggest? Afraid my artistic skills are zilch.

Oh we had had other designs too in the "missing" thread I mentioned above. Hopefully someone can find that and we all design something together.

I'd be up for it. Presumably we'd need a 'critical mass' to justify an order and get them at reasonable price?

can we have the footshape along the same lines as the ones with the nurburg ring, lol

But then it would be neither!!!

But thinking along those lines making this foot ouline in white with SMOC in the middle it CAN look like a Nurnburgring sticker.... Especially if one was to make the outline exactly as wide as that of their sticker... BUT I always think people with THAT sticker on their car trash them on tracks every weekend they get a chance, so I would never buy a car with a Nurnburgring sticker on. So perhaps not.

Likewise...... and then the SMOC will have a Yeti logo in the shape of a dragon in red. I feel it in my bones! :giggle:

I've emailed the company as quoted in the first post and asked them all these hypothetical questions. Hopefully they get back to me.

Are we talking about an external sticker or an internal window one?

I prefer the latter as not a fan of sticking things on the outside/paint.

We are looking at options. The metal look one will work just like the TDI badges on the back of your car and will thus be surface mounted on the hatch (if you buy one) next to the words YETI or fender mounted if you buy a pair.

But a "flat" version of the chosen design can of course be of the interal window sticker variety.

Hi Johann,

the first design and proposal (similar to your design) was put forward by the co founder of the SMOC aerofurb, sadly never got beyond that, although obviously we were a very small cohort back then.

Defiantly be interested in a window or boot lid sticker of some sort, if your up for organising it.

Regards as always,

TP

He's off on 'is 'ollydays for a few daze, waving to every Yeti he sees as he tows his caravan along behind him.

Ah. We better contact aerofurb then as well! Or I should try and find his design/ "that" thread!

And aye, I brought it up and will organise it should we get any further than all those years ago!

I think he's off in his caravan for a few days.

No please, no poxy dragons! Nothing to associate us with that sheep sha**ing bunch!

Why do we want to advertise the "Southern Mini Owners Club"? or even the "south Midlands Orienteering club"?

What TDI badges?..............emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

I would be interested in an internal window decal although I was impressed with the badges on the link Johann posted and might be tempted if the badge was well designed and looked the part. I can offer my services with this to mock up any designs that are put forward and might even submit one myself :wonder:

The idea of the 'monster foot' is good and has the makings of a cool club logo

I was going to say that, but didn't want to appear pedantic.

We have TDIs, but the Yeti isn't one of them. ;)

Elsie doesn't have TDI or TSI........q car......hehehe

I did later say next to the YETI badge! (if if course you even have that!)

I like the idea, so watching with interest.

I think I prefer the internal window idea but a tailgate badge might also appeal.

I'd be happy with an internal window design (though I wonder if this would be visible through the tinted rears). I'd be equally happy with a tailgate badge, provided it was of high quality and looked 'classy' not 'tacky'. Don't want to stick chavvy boy racer stuff on Betty's bum!
